Boro 10k volunteers wanted

*shout out for volunteers Boro 10k* Email received today.. Our Middlesbrough 10K is less than 6 weeks away and we would love for you to join us on the day. We are currently still looking for volunteers to be on course as a route marshal and also in our Event Village in finish processing handing out water, goody bags and t-shirts and also in our baggage keeping runner's bags safe while they run. Both roles in the event village. On route, your running club could also take over part of the runner's route as a takeover and you can advertise your running club with flags and banners. Social Saturday Parkrun

This coming Saturday, 19th July is the next of our social Saturdays this time at Fountains Abbey parkrun. It is their 500th event so could be busier than usual.  Factor this in when travelling and for parking.  Also our weather ☹️ could be a major put off.   It would be lovely to have a get together but do consider the weather and bring dry clothing  Hopefully we’ll be sat with a roof over our heads by the time the rain starts 🤞 Usual info… Run/walk the course as you wish; the main point is to hang around afterward for a drink, cake or breakfast & have a natter.   For anyone not been before, it has a lovely big cafe with a good range of food, cakes scones etc..…

Important – Temporary Upcoming Change to Schedule

Good Evening, There will be a change to the usual Strider’s schedule from Monday 28th July for 2 weeks. Bishopton Road West will be closed from this date for gas works/repairs which will lead to major delays and traffic chaos outside the club. Therefore, we have taken the decision to not meet at the club for them two weeks. We will still be offering sessions on Tuesday 29th July , Thursday 31st July and Tuesday 5th August at different locations. There will be no sessions on Thursday 7th August. We will then meet at the club as normal from Tuesday 12th August when the works are done. Thank you

TIME TRIAL – 24th July

⏱️ 3km Time Trial 24th July ⏱️ On Thursday 24th July we will be doing our first 3km time trial, hopefully around the track! 3km is 7.5 laps of the track. The start line will be the 200m point. The timers (stood at the finish line/bottom of the home straight) will blow a whistle when the time trial begins. Once you reach us at the bottom of the home straight you will have 7 laps to go. We will check each person off and record official times, but feel free to record on your watch as well. 10/07/25 – Tees Barrage Social Run now open for booking

Tomorrow we will be having a social run at Tees Barrage, starting from the old parkrun start/black anchor. 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️ As we did in May, the run will be a 50 minutes, 25 minutes out, 25 minutes back. All runners will set off at the same time, faster runners will just run further before turning and running back after 25 minutes. This is a social run night so we advise those running at the front to run no faster than 8:30 minute miles. The route will start at the old parkrun start/black anchor, head down towards the infinity bridge before crossing the river and heading along South Tees Cycleway along and passed the Newport bridge as though your running to the Riverside stadium.
