Hi all I emailed the school about the number of weeds on the running track last night. They replied saying their maintenance contractor spryed weed killer on the track yesterday morning. Hopefully that will do the trick…… Andy J

This Saturday sees our next canine parkrun mini league run before we break for the summer. Hamsterley Forest is the destination & so far the forecast is cooler on Saturday then the predicted heatwave temps of today and tomorrow. If people can car share please - I know Michelle Ince has spaces so maybe if we can comment below and sort the car sharing out that way ? For those not car-sharing/volunteering please be aware there is a charge for car parking! Obligatory coffee & cake and doggie treats afterwards of course 😊😊

It’s been a very successful, very enjoyable event. Thank you to everyone who participated we hope you enjoyed the day. The weather was spot on for us all, the scenery so beautiful but the effort from all us Striders was amazing. Our finish times were way ahead of our predicted times; I feel more time was taken on photos and selfies on the reccies than we admitted too 😂 Delays in posting finish times due to lack of signal out in the countryside had us worried but all was okay in the end, no search parties required. These are approx times, therefore could be a bit earlier or later, for that reason can we ask you to be at your leg 20-30 mins before your start time. Stockton Striders colours to be worn. Please send Michael your finish time as soon as you’re done. This will let us know you are safe, also if there is a significant difference in times it allows us to notify later runners. Send a screenshot of your Strava if you use it. I plan to hover around after my leg; anyone stuck for lifts after this time, I’ll try to help out if it’s possible. NYSD XC 2022/23 Gail Allison-Robinson and I attended the NYSD XC 222/23 Planning Meeting on behalf of the club on Wednesday. Saturday 2nd July 2022 The very kind Simon Russell - with no nagging from Sue Russell whatsoever 😜has arranged another parkrun opportunity exclusively for Stockton Striders members 😀. It’s to participate in The Grange parkrun at HMP Kirklevington prison. As you know this event is not normally open to the public so we’re very lucky to have the chance to run it! From Sam Johnston It was another great turnout this morning for our rearranged league race at Stewart’s Parkrun this morning. 300 runners in total and I think Striders were up there as the most represented club! 3 striders placed in the top 10, including a debut appearance and 1st place for Tom Marrs. I am taking some of the credit for this as I ran a warm up lap with him so he knew where he was going! There were PB’s a plenty with Gareth, Phil, John, Emma and Michelle all picking up new ones.
