If everyone can meet at the Elm Tree Pub between 6:00pm and 6:30pm we will then be moving on promptly to The Fairfield, Stockton Arms, and probably back to the club (so you may want to park as normal at club and run to the Elm Tree) Christmas attaire is compulsory! They'll be no subs taken on Tuesday however maybe if people still want to bring £1 to donate to the local foodbank - Chloe-louise Turner has been organising collections over the last few weeks.
athlete of the year Your fellow athletes need your votes!! As we come to the end of another running year, once again Striders AC are asking all of its members to vote for their male and female athlete of the Year. When considering your nominations, you may want to think about not only those who have had particular success in events, but others who you consider have made an outstanding personal achievement in their running or made a significant contribution to Stockton Striders AC or the wider running community. Please complete the attached form and return either in paper form by placing in the box that will be available on club nights or by e-mailing it to firstname.lastname@example.org with the title Athlete of the Year by Tuesday 14 January 2020…
It's that time of the year again! Never mind all those Christmas Parties - a very important date for your diary is Friday 31 January 2020 - Stockton Striders AC 5th (!!) Birthday Party & Presentation Night which will be held at Stockton Town FC. As well as the presentations and awards they'll be casino themed activities and a raffle - so any unwanted Christmas presents will be much appreciated as prizes :-) Tickets will be available soon from the club priced at £10 per person which includes a buffet (catered by Blackwells of Norton).
Happy running everyone today be it Hardmoors, The Santa Trail Run at Kirkleatham, training runs or flying the club colours at the NYSD XC at Acklam. Just a reminder that the Great Run Local at Ropner Park is cancelled this morning (and for those who were instead planning on going to Ropner Parks Christmas Fair today unfortunately this is cancelled too due to the high winds)
Bit of a last minute shout out but I’m planning to run from Hartburn (Ropner Park area) To Cowpen Bewley Woodland park for the league race in the morning - distance is approx 8 miles & pace will be 10:30 min miles so departing at 8:20am - comment here if wanting to join me please. With the 5k run it will be around 11 miles in total .. and we’ll need to blag a lift home too 🤣 thanks Helen
Thanks to the 54 striders who attended tonight’s AGM - meaning we were double the numbers of the required 27 attendees to ensure the meeting was quorat 😊 More details of the meeting will be posted in the coming days but in the meantime the committee would like to say a huge thank you to departing committee members Chris Newton, Richard Whitehouse, Angela Cox & Viv Murphy and a warm welcome to Bethany Fleming, Lee Buckle, Aaron Atkinson & Gail Robinson. All other committee members remain the same having been voted to continue in their current roles. The club league details for 2020 will be posted in the next couple of days .... And finally .... well done & good luck to Tom Ramsey who will be representing Stockton Striders…
Stockton Striders AGM takes place next Thursday 21 November. We have several key roles vacant on the committee .... membership Secretary, Welfare officer (male) and 2 x general committee roles .... we really would urge everyone to consider the roles and become involved in shaping the club for the future 👍🏻 For further info on the roles please see earlier post or for an informal chat please email email@example.com & this can be arranged 🙂
Details of the next XC meeting held at Fox Rush Redcar can be found here .... http://www.nysd.org.uk/images/XC19-20/Fox_Rush_XC_details_2019.pdf We appreciate it does clash with the Gav Duffy 5k which is a league run and many of us who knew Gav well are running this but it would be great to still have a strong showing at the XC too. posted by Helen J on behalf of Team managers Liz & Jerry
