Sundays 5k or 10k Ben Robinson tribute run. Just to remind those attending this Sunday the meeting point is Norton duck pond at 0930. The weather forecast looks good so rather than go to The Highland Laddie for a butty (which may be busy) there is a plan B. After the run we now intend to have a brew on the grass bank next to the duck pond. There is a small take away cafe opposite the duck pond which serves hot drinks. Alternatively bring a flask if it suits. Those still craving a breakfast butty Greggs on Norton High St I’m sure will oblige. You could even use Just Eat and get it delivered to the duck pond😁. Hard to believe but it’s approaching one year since Strider Ben Robinson passed. His anniversary is 17th August. As a tribute a 5k or 10k social run is planned on Sunday 18th to pay our respects. The route….yep you’ve guessed Ben’s favourite, the Billog killer 10k. As an alternative there is also a mini killer 5k route available too (incorporates the 10k route - only shorter). All are welcome. Those wanting to run either distance please meet at Norton Duck Pond at 0930 Sunday 18th August which is the start/finish for both routes. Now the warmer weather finally seems to be with us it’s time to promote our current stock of green training vests (same colour as the green training t’s). Ladies (XS - L) and unisex sizes (S - XL) available. Stitched emblem on the front and usual club wording in blue on the back. Price is £11.50. Pre-ordering not necessary.
