Club Member of the Year 2022 In previous years Striders have voted for their male and female member of the year by selecting their 1st, 2nd and 3rd choices in both categories. However, this year we have a different approach as agreed at the AGM on 17th November. Members are now asked in the first instance to nominate members who they think should be considered for male and female member of the year. All nominations this year should include 100 words max (can be in list/bullet point format, few sentences, whatever is easier) outlining why the individual deserves the award. Hi All, The full league for next year is still being finalised but we can announce that the Muddy Boots 10km in Ripon will be our first league race. This is on the 5th February 2023. (it does clash with a cross country on the same day!) We are announcing this now as there are only 387 places left so wouldn’t want people to miss out. Tea/coffee night this Tuesday and Thursday after club sessions. Biscuit donations most welcome. Stay back and have a brew and a biccy if you can. Don’t forget, Thursday will also see the draw for Helen Mc’s beautiful hand made Christmas wreath. Oh and before I forget, November subs owed emails will be circulated by the weekend. The Inaugural Stockton Striders AC parkrun Canine League - Final standings Well what can I say, this had it all! parkrun HQ rule changes trying to put a spanner in the works, injuries, illnesses, refusals to run up hills (it was more a mountain wasn't it Alfred!) and accusations of sabotage by fellow competitors! Overall, it's proved to be a popular social league with plenty of humans without pooches also coming along to the runs. After the 8 events I think we'll call it a tie between: Alfred (Nick and Kay) Freddie (Steve) Alfie (Glenn) who all finished 1st at 2 races each Flo (me) and Alan (Martin and Suzanne) also finished 1st at one race each. Yesterday saw the final instalment of our canine mini league (the full report of the season will follow!) at Albert Park.  With Steve & Freddie, Glenn & Alfie, Andy and Ivy, Sue & Jet, Kay with Alfred & me with Flo there was plenty of competition Well done to Glenn & Alfie, Steve & Freddie and Andy & Ivy (smashing her PB) on their 1st, 2nd & 3rd placings. Sue and Jet finished strongly whilst Alfred and Flo went for the social option again, choosing to run together. As ever the post run treats proved popular afterwards Well done all and thanks to the support crew of Jo & Nick

Hi all In aid of Ben’s charity fundraising Strider Helen McIlvenny has hand made a Christmas wreath. (Photograph example below). It will be on a moss base; using a variety of winter foliages plus seasonal trimmings and textures; and finished with a purple velvet ribbon to represent Pancreatic Cancer UK. £2 a raffle ticket strip. (Normal selling being price would be £45). Tickets will be available at the club this week 6th and the 8th. The raffle will be drawn at 8pm on the 8th and the wreath will be available to take home on the night (or collection/delivery can be arranged as necessary.
