Sorry all, tonight (23.1.18) after sessions is of course a freebee tea and coffee night. You know the drill re donations ! Thanks and as they say better late than never.

Ormesby Hall cross country won the prize last year for the muddiest course, this year I think it won the prize for the coldest course. The ladies ran first and performed a fair bit of ice breaking. Underneath was a lovely cold wet mud just to keep the men happy. top marks to all the marshals for standing in the cold & later snow warning us of all the icy patches but always cheerful. A truly challenging course and a special well done to the first timers who did not appear to be put off from trying other cross country events. Message from organisers ... Following a course inspection at Ormesby Hall today the meeting will go ahead as scheduled tomorrow. It will be muddy in places so be prepared. If anything changes overnight re the weather we will let you know.

Message from Organisers of event .... IMPORTANT NOTICE- after walking the route again today the walkway has got worse and is too dangerous to run on. Your safety has to be top priority as you know I do not cancel events lightly and only do so if I feel your safety is at risk. I have made the decision to POSTPONE it until next Sunday 28th Apologise for an inconvenience I wanted to inform you all sooner rather than later so you can make other plans. As you know tonight’s sessions are cancelled. As we dont want any Milk Tray skiing heroics to get tickets for Presentation Night they will be available Tues. If you could just comment below by lunchtime Friday (19th) if you still need to buy one then we can get some idea of numbers. Yes - it’s free tea/coffee after club sessions tomorrow night (11th). Surplus Christmas chocolate and mince pie stocks would be welcomed. Also dont forget tickets are on sale for our birthday/annual awards night celebrations. Friday 26th, 7 pm, tickets £8 which includes American diner style food and funny money to play at our in house casino. Sorry and another don’t forget. Those that haven’t need to vote for their club male and female of the year. The ballot closes tomorrow night so please vote. Winners will be announced at the awards night on the 26th. Think that’s it.... Cheers

Hi all...A few updates and reminders... If you wish to use your vote for Athlete of the year the deadline is Thursday 11th. This can be done using the ballot slip at the club or alternatively email your choices to stocktonstriders@gmail.com If you could give your 1st/2nd/3rd choices for both male and female please. Anyone interested? NECAA Royal Signal Road Relays at Hetton Lyons on Saturday 17th February. Each leg is 2.2 miles with only a couple of small hilly bits ??. 6 men & 4 ladies required for each team. Would be one where official Striders vests must be worn!! You must be England Athletics Affiliated to take part. We had a few teams enter last year and it was good fun and not at all competitive ?.
