York bus – only 1 spare seat remains
York marathon & 10 miler 15/10/23 Further to my post last week to confirm we have the 33 seater booked. Only 1 spare seat remains and once it’s full it’s full!! August Subs
Morning August session subs owed emails will be circulated today/over the weekend. Those only owing £1 (ie have only attended one session in August) will have this amount c/f until September. If this applies you will not receive an email. Please make payment by the due date, I may have mentioned before but it really helps reduce admin time if you do. Thanks Andy J
Dates for the diary
Couple of dates for the social diary. Friday 17th November - World Pancreatic Cancer Day. Charity race night (horses not humans !). The Moline Cross Norton. All profits to Pancreatic Cancer UK. Saturday 16th December. Striders Christmas Drinks (with a cheeky Christmas quiz thrown in for good measure). Again starting in The Moline Cross and then the bright lights of Norton High St await for those that feel the need. Further details on both events to follow. Andy J
Final call for 1st XC fixture
Final call for the 1st Cross Country fixture only, if you can’t make the first but want to run we will add you at a later event. If you do want to run in the first fixture on 1st October and haven’t confirmed on the previous post please comment below. I have also attached the fixtures for the season. We will notify any changes at the earliest opportunity. Just a reminder you must be EA affiliated for the current season (2023/24) to participate. There’s a EA membership form on the join us section of the website & once that has been returned & you’ve paid the £17 EA fee you’ll be good to go 😊.
York Marathon / 10 mile 15th October – Striders bus
Just as the GNR bus peeps have nicely got home (right Kris Allen 😜😜) thoughts turn to the next trip out … our annual trip to York 10 miler/marathon on Sunday 15th October. As it stands the 33 seater is booked and will be approx £16.50 per head including drivers tip. I currently have 31 spaces filled as below so there’s only 2 spare places . However we do have the option of the 49 seater bus but I’d need at least 43 people on it so it’s around the same price per person as the current 33 seater … hope that makes sense!! Covid
A message from Daniel & Helen McIlvenny At Daniel’s workplace a colleague has tested positive for covid yesterday. As of last night Daniel is now also displaying symptoms of covid. He was at club sessions on Tuesday (5th) in the sub 20 group. Helen has requested out of an abundance of caution I let members know so those who came into contact with Daniel on Tuesday at the club may wish to take action as appropriate. Thanks Andy J

***** IMPORTANT GNR BUS 2023 FINAL INFORMATION ***** As the big race day edges ever closer and all the hard work and training is done, it’s time to relax, fuel, hydrate & most of all make sure you read this important information. 😜😜. Kris Allen has the final list of people for the bus and will do the roll call on Sunday before departure. A reminder the bus leaves STFC/ Striders at 7:30am sharp so please be there ready to board by 7:20am. Please have £11 in cash ready when you board the bus and Kris will collect it.
