Striders 5k mini league – it’s a yes

Club News
For those not on FB Hi all Judging by the level of interest it’s a resounding yes to a 5k pre Christmas Striders handicap league. Given the numbers involved (approx 60 members) we will have a male and female league. Whilst the deadline to confirm participation isn’t until tomorrow (Monday 1st) people taking part should start thinking about their initial handicap time. A few people have queried calculating their initial handicap time with me. If it helps this is how I intend to calculate mine. My best 5k time for the last 2 months is 23.01. At the moment I’m not at that pace so my initial handicap will be 23.50 to reflect what I think is my current 5k time. Whilst initial handicap times need to be credible please…

Club News

This person did not want a fuss and wanted things low key but with his permission we want to say a massive well done & congratulations to Tony Galilee … not only has he joined the 500 club but has volunteered over 90 times - simply phenomenal. We felt we couldn’t not mark the occassion so presented Tony with a couple of gifts and he definitely deserves not 1 but 2 striders pens don’t you agree 😊😊😊

Naked Run Results

Club News
NAKED RUN RESULTS Hi All, What a brilliant turnout for our naked run at the tees barrage this evening. Firstly I would like to thank all the volunteers. Without them we would not have been able to host this event so I am sure you will appreciate them giving their time up tonight to help out. Before posting the results of tonight’s run I want to say a massive well done to everyone who took part. There are so many people who have ran faster than what they predicted. This goes to show that sometimes running without a watch can be a good thing and make you realise that you can run much faster than what you think. With that being said, tonight was all about being as close as…
