Tuesday (14 December) is our Christmas pub run. We’ll start running at 6:30 from the club as usual. We’ll then visit The Elm Tree and The Fairfield before returning to the club for a final drink. We usually spend around 15 minutes in each pub. It’s a social run with us all running together approx 5k in total. Everyone welcome! Christmas fancy dress is encouraged. 🎅🧑‍🎄 Booking will be via MagnaPass tomorrow evening.

For those not on FB Hi all In addition to college open night (thanks Tristan) the clubhouse are also showing a Christmas movie tonight for their junior members. ‘Elf’ for those who fancy gate crashing. It’s due to start at 630, we will play it by ear in terms of how it affects pre-session meeting. Likewise Kay and Neil on door rota duties, we’ll play it by ear where you base yourselves too. It’s also free tea night and due to the Christmas movie it will be served in the hall aka dance studio (the room next door to the bar). I am reliably informed the heating will be on (unlike the AGM). And to cap it all its also committee meeting night too, 8pm start. Busy, busy. Thanks Andy…

For those not on FB Striders Christmas drinks - Norton Tavern - this Friday 10th Thanks to those who’ve confirmed they will be attending. There are chip butties available, £2 each to be served about half eight. If you would like one please comment below. Deadline for orders is 2 pm Thursday 9th. Hi all Steve Mitchinson has today had a positive PCR test result for COVID. His lateral flow test on Wednesday was negative. As a precaution he wanted to let me to know so I could advise those who were in the 22-25 group on Tuesday or those who came in close proximity to him in the clubhouse on Tuesday too. Please take whatever steps you feel as appropriate. Steve was happy for me to post this message. Andy J

Tonight’s official club sessions are cancelled. Paths are still icy in places, temperatures are due to be around 0 degrees at 6pm and Stockton Town have just advised their car park is still really icy too. They have cancelled all footy sessions on their 3G pitches. Members safety is as always our priority so I’m sure you all understand the reasoning behind the decision. So as an alternative, stay in, shop online and buy that Christmas jumper for the Striders do on the 10th 😁. Thanks Andy J

Hi all Don’t forget - Friday 10th December - 7pm onwards…… The annual Striders Christmas drinks celebration. This year we’ve booked the marquee at The Norton Tavern, Station Road. In keeping with traditional attendees are encouraged to wear Christmas jumpers/tops. Just so we can gauge numbers could those planning to attend please comment below. Friends welcome too.
