Cleveland Stay Relays – Information and Teams

Club News
Message to From Tom Day Just to clarify these are the Cleveland STAY relays - the places in the legs are just there for purely for information. What we are asking you to do is to run the distance of the leg locally and not on the Cleveland Way as there will be no one else about etc and the risks are high. In terms of elevation - if you can add an little elevation when staying local then go for it, but that is just a small element The main idea is to have a bit of fun running the same distance overall but locally. Teams are as the PDF document link below If you feel you need to change the ‘leg’ you are down for please communicate with…

The Cleveland STAY relays… Our next challenge

Club News
The Cleveland Way Relays were meant to have been on Sunday 21st June. Unfortunately, they have been cancelled this year. However, we thought that for our next Striders Challenge, we would do our own version of the relays in teams. There are 16 legs on the Cleveland way (you can see them all here - https://www.nym.ac/cleveland-way-relay-info/) of varying lengths - from 6k to 14k, and we are looking for people to run the distance for each leg at any point on the weekend of the 20/21 June so that each team runs the length of the Cleveland Way (though it obviously doesn’t have to be on the Cleveland Way). When you sign up we will randomly allocate you a team and a leg. If you don’t want to run the length…

England Athletics Affiliation Renewals

Club News
As discussed by the committee the last few weeks is membership fees renewals. It has been agreed that both Stockton Town FC and Stockton Striders membership continue to be on hold however England Athletics are keen for their members to still renew their affiliation. The club renewed its club membership in April 2020 as normal. We feel it only fair that individuals make their own decision as to whether they wish to renew their affiliation  or not. The fee is £15 and will be valid up to 31/03/21. If you wish to renew payment will be via bank transfer only - BACS Account number 12616651 Sort Code 09-01-29 and include your Name & “EA” in details. ONLY ONCE YOU HAVE MADE PAYMENT, PLEASE E-MAIL THE ATTACHED 2021.21 striders EA renewal…

Important Update – Covid19 guidelines

Club News
As per last weeks post the committee met (virtually via zoom) last night to discuss a couple of things. First on the agenda was the clubs current situation in relation to Covid19 restrictions. Given the Governments and EA current guidance, and the fact that Stockon Town FC are not planning on making any decision on returning until at least July which obviously impacts on Striders, the committee have taken the decision that for now unfortunately all formal Striders sessions remain cancelled and the club closed. In line with EA guidance Lee Buckle has agreed to be the club's Covid Co-ordinator and will liaise with coaches, members and the committee to formulate a safe and planned return when the time is right. In the meantime we will continue to plan some…
