Thank you to everyone who came along to tonight’s AGM - we had 58 present far more than the 28 we needed to be quorat. Further details of the meeting will be shared but just to let you know the changes to the committee as people stood down from their roles and others re-elected. A huge well done to everyone who competed in yesterdays cross country at Preston Park, it proved to be a more challenging course than perhaps people anticipated, fairly long grass, very boggy in places and a couple of climbs made worse by being muddy and on a slight camber. followed by a nice little stretch through the woods all adding to the challenge. Nothing like varied terrain to test the stamina! I must say the unfailing enthusiasm of the marshals made it feel so much easier & sorry if I didn't smile second time up that hill!! I think listening to the comments from runners from other clubs that this has proved to be a well received new course & looks like Striders have made a name for themselves as…

Very well done to everyone who took part in the NYSD XC race at Preston Park - our first time at hosting the event. Thank you to Sid Rudd, Graham Hall and the NYSD Team, Dave Todd and his First Aiders, Karen Harland for the photos and last but no least Stockton Striders AC and friends who were out early on a bitterly cold morning setting up the course & taking up their marshalling positions, including the guys who marshalled & ran, the ladies who ran then marshalled and everyone who cajoled family members to help out when we needed more Marshall’s. Top team managers Liz & Jerry who as ever didn’t disappoint with cake & goodies on hand ....oh and even the sun shone!! Also a very special mention…

Hi all - don’t forget to layer up tomorrow for the NYSD .... they’ll be lots of standing around so feel free to bring a folding chair/flask of coffee for in between races if you like! If you’re helping with setting up the course it’s 9am meet in the overflow car park ... and for those marshalling meet up is also the overflow car park at 10:15am. If coming after that if you head to Striders tent for further info please. We’ve got hi viz vests for everyone and will go through who’s standing where in the morning ????
