Evening all. the Cross Country season will soon be starting again. We have been asked for anyone who is intending to take part to register. All competitors must be UKAA affiliated. I will need your name as it is shown on your affiliation card, URN number and date of birth. We have been asked to only register athletes who intend to take part in at least one Cross country competition as last year a lot of people registered and did not then take part. There will be some numbers available during the season for anyone who has not pre registered. Cross country is great fun and great strength training open to all levels of runners. Royal Signal Relays - entry closes 19 August so we need final names by Thursday 15 August please - you need to be EA affiliated to Stockton Striders as your 1st claim club & will need to wear an official club vest at the event 👍🏻. Our rearranged run for Sunday ....meet at Ropner Park at 8am - thinking an out and back run to Long Newton (8 miles) then finishing at GRL at Ropner Park to (making it 11 ish miles) with the option of a cafe stop afterwards 👍🏻🏃‍♀️🏃🏻‍♂️😊🥤 thanks Helen  

IMPORTANT - long run update Hi Guys at the risk of sounding like a fair weather runner .... i’m going sack the long run today & just do barrage parkrun then do a long run 2moro instead ... I’ll post details later ... I’ve just been out with the dog & I’m soaking wet after 20 mins 🙈🙈 sorry for any inconvenience caused. Helen

A few of us are planning approx 11.5 mile training run on Saturday (a 10:30 min mile pace) - leaving West End bowling club at Darlington Road Hartburn  (next to cycle path) at 8:15am to run to tees barrage parkrun via Ropner Park (of course 😊) then the parkrun and back to West End Bowling club ... Hartburn Deli will be open by the time we get back if anyone wants a post run refreshment 😊😊.

Important notice - for the purposes of health & safety anyone running at the club tonite will be required to carry water with them. Thank you

A few of us are planning on meeting at barrage parkrun car park at 7:50am on Saturday to do 9-10 miles (including the last 3 at parkrun) pace will be around 10 1/2 min miles as it’s our marathon training long run ....

Hi Gang - trying to gage if there's enough interest in putting a bus on from the club for the York Marathon/York 10 mile event on 20th October . If interested can you please comment below by close of play today and I'll book it at the same time as the GNR bus - again if you commit to a place then you will have to pay for it regardless of if you travel or not!! We usually leave club at 7am and return from York at 4pm with the 10 mile peeps cheering on their marathon buddies :-) Cost approx. £12 but will be confirmed once I've made the booking Thanks Helen
