Session Subs In time honoured tradition there will be no charge for December’s club sessions. However I’ve just realised I didn’t issue November’s subs emails in early December - my bad, sorry! During this week November sessions subs emails will be issued with a late January deadline for payment. Moving forward normal service will be resumed, ie, Jan subs emails will be issued in early February. Thanks Andy J

For those not on FB Hi All, Whilst the official club sessions have finished we do have a couple of unofficial sessions planned for next week. Tuesday 27th December - 9.30am @ Ropner park I will be leading an all inclusive session, meeting at the bandstand. The session will include a bit of everything so if you’re free and interested please come down! And then on New Year’s Eve Liz is planning a social run on the teesdale way. Striders Christmas Drinks - Friday 16th December Sorry but it’s all a bit ‘last minute’ plan B this year. We haven’t been able to secure a suitable room for our own use on the 16th so as a back up the plan is to meet in the Moline Cross (Norton Cricket Club bar area) from 7pm. It’s quite a big space so hopefully it will be suitable. After an hour or so we can then assess whether we move on or stay put. Just so we can gauge the level of interest please comment below if you can make it. In other news plans are taking shape for our birthday party/awards night on Friday 27th January. Raffle Christmas Wreath Draw Helen McIlvenny made the draw in the clubhouse tonight…..and the winner was……Sophie Owens - congrats Sophie (Helen J will arrange delivery with you ). We made a very impressive £134 all for Pancreatic Cancer UK. Thanks to everyone who bought tickets and thanks to Helen Mc for making the lovely wreath. Andy J

Club Member of the Year 2022 In previous years Striders have voted for their male and female member of the year by selecting their 1st, 2nd and 3rd choices in both categories. However, this year we have a different approach as agreed at the AGM on 17th November. Members are now asked in the first instance to nominate members who they think should be considered for male and female member of the year. All nominations this year should include 100 words max (can be in list/bullet point format, few sentences, whatever is easier) outlining why the individual deserves the award. Hi All, The full league for next year is still being finalised but we can announce that the Muddy Boots 10km in Ripon will be our first league race. This is on the 5th February 2023. Hi all In aid of Ben’s charity fundraising Strider Helen McIlvenny has hand made a Christmas wreath. (Photograph example below). It will be on a moss base; using a variety of winter foliages plus seasonal trimmings and textures; and finished with a purple velvet ribbon to represent Pancreatic Cancer UK. £2 a raffle ticket strip. (Normal selling being price would be £45). Tickets will be available at the club this week 6th and the 8th. The raffle will be drawn at 8pm on the 8th and the wreath will be available to take home on the night (or collection/delivery can be arranged as necessary.
