For those not on FB Morning all, Here is todays virtual session. Remember, this should be done within the current Covid-19 rules. Hills Find a long hill. Run up and down the hill 6 time. After the 6th time have a 2 minute walk recovery. Repeat this a further 3-4 times. When running up hill you should be running at 60-70% effort. Jog down the hills. Don't forget to warm up and cool down before and after your session. Also, please be careful on any icy surfaces. Enjoy!

Virtual unofficial session 7.1.21

  Here is todays virtual session. Remember this should be done whilst sticking to the current Covid-19 guidance. Mile repeats Run 1 mile at a pace just faster than your 5km pace. Follow with a 2 minute walking recovery. Repeat this a further 2 or 3 times so you have ran a total of 3 or 4 miles. You should aim to complete each mile at the same pace or slightly faster than the last if you can. This is a good session for improving your 5km pace. Remember to warm up and cool down before and after your session. Please also take care on any icy pavements. Enjoy!

Extract from Government guidance following the recent national lockdown announcement on 4.1.21 Exercise​ You can continue to exercise alone, with one other person or with your household or support bubble​.​ This should be limited to once per day, and you should not travel outside your local area​.​You should maintain ​social distancing. Your continuous support for the club in what can only be described as a surreal year has been fantastic. Thank you all for sticking with us. Tier 4 – COVID updates

  Club Update - COVID  As we enter Tier 4 national restrictions here is an extract from current Government guidance. ‘People can exercise outdoors or visit some public outdoor places, such as parks, the countryside accessible to the public, public gardens or outdoor sports facilities. You can continue to do unlimited exercise alone, or in a public outdoor place with your household, support bubble, or with one other person if you maintain social distancing’. This sadly means that once again Striders official club group sessions will have to go on hold. Virtual sessions will be posted from next week to give members the opportunity to vary their running programme during Tier 4 restrictions. We will continually review the situation  and as always will be guided by Government and England Athletics…

For those not on FB What can I say....it’s not often the Johnston’s are lost for words as most of you probably know! The news that our Striders friends have organised a collection following mam’s passing has blown us all away. Thank you all so much. With the money raised we plan to plant a memorial tree with a plaque (making reference to Striders) for mam in Ropner Park. As children we lived on Hartburn Lane so as a family Ropner Park was, and still today has a special place in our hearts. The tree and plaque will be a fitting memorial for mam that all our Striders friends can now be part of too. Your kindness, support and generosity is humbling and the donation is a gesture we as…

Sub 22/22-25: full 25-27, 27-30: 2 spaces 30-33/33+ : 1 space After tonight the next official club sessions will be Tuesday 5th January 2021. We will of course be keeping a watchful eye on government Covid related advice and updates in the interim.
