Well after another successful hosting of the NYSD XC at Preston Park what can I say but WOW we truly are a top team :-) From everyone who helped marshal, run, or marshal & run,a massive thank you to you all. A special mention to Julia Coleby, Paul Appleton & Angela Cox (and Mark) who have done loads of work not only today but behind the scenes too. Events like today don’t just happen & it’s a testimony to everyones hard work when all goes to plan #giveourselvesapatontheback #teamstriders #greenandblue #prestonpark

Marshals don’t forget to wrap up warm tomorrow - the autumn sun is pleasant but in the shade it will be down right parky .... and you may be stood in it a long time! Food & drink may be a good idea too ? & your mobile phone a must please. Runners - layer up, men if you can get there early & support the ladies and ladies if you can stay & support the guys. Early heads up the next league run is the Gav Duffy Memorial 5K on Sunday 25 November at Cowpen Bewley Woodland Park (registration from 9am and race starts at 10am) with the now optional but traditional brunch at Highland Laddie Norton afterwards (get downloading the wetherspoons app gang) Many of us had the privilege to run with Gav (albeit a long distance behind him as he was a very fast runner;-) ) and therefore we come together to remember and celebrate the life of a truly gifted athlete #gonebutnotforgotten

Preston Park XC - this Sunday 18/11/18 marshalls final arrangements Thank you to everyone who has offered to help out this Sunday - the weather forecast is looking promising for some autumn sunshine so it should be a lovely day for it :-) To confirm we have Helen Johnston, Julia Louise, Angela Cox and Paul Appleton as co-ordinators on the day and each will be allocated marshalls to position on course. Mobile numbers for the first aiders & Striders point of contact will be shared on the day so if you can please ensure you have a mobile phone with you please. We’re planning on doing a final reccie of the Preston Park XC (probably only 1 lap of the course mind ) next Saturday (17/11/18) lunchtime if anyone wants to come along -12pm in overflow car park.

Attention all Marshall’s for Preston Park XC - as promised the club will pay for bacon butties etc please comment here on what you would like & I’ll place the order in advance .... butties will be ready for 10am before you are allocated your marshalling point. Any offers of getting there earlier to help with set up will be much appreciated Thanks Helen
