Hi all This email was originally posted back in March. Conscious we have a lot of new members I thought it might be useful to re-post. Club Merchandise With immediate effect we are changing our approach when ordering club merchandise from one of our suppliers Sprinters. Members will now purchase their own orders and pay direct for them rather than the club submit periodic bulk orders. Sprinters supply our blue half zip training tops and the electric green long and short sleeved training t-shirts with the reflective logo/lettering. They also supply the standard short sleeved electric green training t-shirts and training vests with the transfer club logo on. The link to our club page on their website attached. For those attending Ben Robinsons funeral next Monday. Pancreatic Cancer UK have provided some purple ribbons (complete with safety pin). They will be available at the club tonight. I am suggesting an optional 50p donation should you wish to get one. Thanks Andy J

From Sam Johnston NYMAC RELAYS Hi All, it’s the relays this Thursday and I managed to get 7 teams entered, 2 women’s and 5 men’s. If you previously said you could attend but now can’t can you let me know by 6pm tonight. I do have a list of reserve runners so don’t worry if you can’t. After 6, I will be submitting the teams. Ben Robinson It is with great sadness that we announce the death of my husband Ben Robinson aged 59. Diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer 25/07/22; Ben sadly lost his courageous but always dignified fight against this cruel disease on 17th August 2023. Ben was being cared for at home and went peacefully surrounded by his loving family. A dearly beloved husband of Gail, much loved dad to Lucy, step dad to Lizzy and Sophie, father-in-law to Rob & Tony and adored grandad of Bobby. Also a good & loyal friend to many. Funeral service and cremation to take place at Stockton Crematorium, on Monday 4th September 2023 at 11am. It is Ben’s wish for football shirts of any team, running tops or bright colours to be worn. For those not on Facebook As a fitting tribute to Ben a Striders social run is being planned for next Sunday, the 27th. It is a chance to share and laugh about all the good times we had with Ben and to support each other along the way. It was Ben’s wish that such a run incorporates what he affectionally called his “killer 10k route”. Starting in Norton the route takes you over the A19, along Wolviston Road, past Northfield School and back round to Wolviston Road heading back into Norton and finishing at the duck pond. Ben Robinson It is with a heavy heart and extreme sadness that I write this post to share the news that Ben passed away peacefully this afternoon. Courageous and dignified throughout Bens condition deteriorated during the last 48 hours. The one shred of comfort we all have is that he is now at peace. As with last weeks post I ask at this time we all allow Gail and the family time to absorb their sad news and to put in place all they need to. Those wishing to send Gail a message may not understandably get a reply.
