NYSD cross country event #2

This takes place on Sunday 24th October at Fox Rush Community Woodland, Redcar. Post code for sat navs is TS10 5PZ. See maps below for parking, race times and the XC running routes. Spikes or trail shoes recommended. Stockton Striders colours must be worn to take part. Our tent will be there along with our flag flying high; we are hoping for a good Striders turn out given the marathon events will be over with and we’ve heard this is a flat route 👍. To tempt you further, refreshments will be available post run. Paul’s weekend race report

Run reports
19 Striders turned up at a breezy Albert Park on Saturday. Stephen Mitchinson and Chloe Turner didn't appear to be wind affected as they picked up new pb's - nor Sarah Winter who was 3rd home for the ladies. Elsewhere Yvonne Smith celebrated her 150th parkrun at Stewart Park - where we also saw Gareth Maloney get a pb. Izzy Morgan was 2nd lady finisher at Sedgefield and Keran Hodgson 3rd at Cotsford Fields. We also had runners at Hartlepool, York, Wormwood Scrubs, Mile End, Darlington South, Selby and Jubilee. 30 September training sessions

Training
Tomorrows sessions are open for booking on MagnaPass.   There are a few change to normal: 25-27 and 27-30 groups only you are meeting track side at 6pm. 30-33 you are meeting at Ropner Park bandstand at 6:30pm. Everyone else meeting at 6:30pm in your usual spots.

Paul’s 25 September parkrun report

Run reports
Striders were a little more thinly spread over the local parkruns on Saturday. 11 Striders did take a trip to Hartlepool where Michelle Ince continued her excellent recent form. Another all-course pb was achieved along with a regional age-grading and a 3rd place finish for the ladies. Great work Michelle. Steven Hall also recorded a Hartlepool best time. Elsewhere Izzy Morgan had another good run at Sedgefield. A new pb and 2nd lady home was the order of the day. Three more pb's to report - and they went to Emma Fleming at Albert Park, Keran Hodgson at Redcar and our old friend Tom Day at Cannon Hill, Birmingham. Cross Country update

**Long post alert** To all our XC participants.. next Sunday 3rd October kicks off the Cross Country series. With the first one nice and local; taking place at Acklam. Few points to make you aware of: Photo of the routes shown below. Please read the information provided regarding use of the Acorn centre and the times of your races. Parking may be limited, car sharing would be an option to help with this, although we do appreciate under the current covid climate you may want to travel solo. If lifts are needed please shout up and if anyone is happy to car share please let other members know. Striders tops must be worn.
