Apparently London marathon ballot results are out today! As yet we are still awaiting details about any club place for 2023 so just hang on to those no emails for now! If we do secure a club place usual rules apply - you must have been England Athletics affiliated to the club as your first claim club as of 30/09/22 and evidence that the no thanks confirmation is yours! An Autumnal Ropner Park was the venue for this months Striders canine mini league at Stockton Sunday Runners 5k with the 3 A’s - Alf, Alfred and Alan and 1 F - Flo all raring to go. After lots of excited squeals at the start we were off on the usual 3 lap 5k course … Well done to Alf on his first place with Glen, followed by Alfred with Kay in 2nd place who worked his little socks off and is now enjoying a well earned nap. Joint 3rd and crossing the line together was Alan with Suzanne & Flo with myself who opted for a bit of a team camaraderie kinda run only interrupted by the odd squirrel watch 🐿 ! Well done to all our four legged…

***Cross Country Alert*** After the successful first outing of the season at Acklam, our next stop is the mostly flat, possibly boggy cross county course at Foxrush, Redcar. The date for the diary is 13th November, please comment as normal if you would like to take part The usual rules apply of must be UKA Affiliated and have a valid URN. Further details will be provided re course, parking etc once received Michael and Gail

The next instalment of Striders canine mini league takes place this weekend . Instead of a parkrun it’s the Stockton Sunday Runners 5k at 9:30am at Ropner park … will be great to see our 4 legged friends there! Dogs are allowed to run on waist harness for this one. All welcome with or without a pooch!

After paying the York bus money & drivers tip we had £20 left so donated £10 to each just giving page for Striders charity single - thanks all 💚💙💜

Looking forward to our annual jaunt to York tomorrow! Bus peeps don’t forget to bring some layers (old clothes that you don’t mind leaving behind at the start & change of clothing for afterwards). In previous years there has been shower facilities for a small charge but not sure if this is still the case this year. I’d advise you leave all baggage in the baggage area at race village … the bus won’t be there to access until home time! You may want to bring some snacks too - again there are food venders at the race village but queues are long and food on the expensive side! See you all bright & early in the morning Helen

York bus update … bus will leave Stockton Striders at 7am sharp so please if everyone can be there by 6:50am … bus will depart York around 4pm ish. Fare is £13 return … cash only and please have right money as I won’t have any change! Please note if you don’t travel I’ll still need your dosh as otherwise will be personally out of pocket ….
