League run #2. Hartlepool parkrun

25 Happy smiling striders arrived in Seaton Carew this morning for the second league run of 2023 - Hartlepool Parkrun. The smiles began to drop as car doors were opened and the February seaside weather was felt. Still the striders took to the sea front to begin warm up runs in preparation for the event and to prevent frost bite. Our happy group then huddled together like penguins for the group photo before the start . Weather conditions remained poor with an 18mph head wind making it feel even colder and at one point a spattering of icy rain , there was some relief from the wind once the turn point was reached and this also gave everyone the opportunity to see fellow striders at different stages of the event…

League race event No.2. Hartlepool parkrun. Saturday 25th February. Meet at the start area 08:55am for the traditional club photo. Every club member is automatically included in the league, if you do not wish to be included, please message Sam or myself to let us know. Should you decide at a later date to join the league, only your races from that point will count so make sure we have 8 events left!! Club colours must be worn. (Official merchandise), a link to purchase will be provided on request. NYSD Track & Field 2023

LONG POST ALERT…. Paul Johnson & I will attend a meeting on Wednesday with NYSD on behalf of our club if a reasonable amount of interest from members in participating in the above is there. We usually have two team managers; Paul will act as one; another member is needed to  volunteer as the other team manager. We can share some brief details, obtained today at cross country; please note this is not set in stone it will however give you an idea of what the Track & Field season is about. Usually held between April to August, one a month. 4 events planned; 2 at Middlesbrough, 2 at Shildon.  It may be we just attend the two Middlesbrough events. This coming Sunday 5th February sees the first of our league run events. Muddy Boots Ripon 10k, places are still available. Every club member is automatically included in the league, therefore if you will be participating in events but do not wish to be included in the league, please let one of us know. NYSD Cross Country next event  is 15th January at Ormesby Hall. Details are below. We are aware this clashes with the Brass Monkey event, with many of our regular XC runners taking part in this, it would be great if we can still put two teams out.
