XC No.3. Summerhill Hartlepool.

Run reports
XC no.3. Summerhill, Hartlepool. A Great Strider turnout. 👏👏👏 A bitter cold morning; the ground churned into gunky mud in places, a typical XC course I would say. Peter had the tent up before we arrived, he’s our No.1 tent “putter upper”. Our runners battled the weather and course conditions in style, “it’s too cold”, “it’s so muddy & slippy”. “Have I got mud on the back of my top” 🙄 Everyone did good. It was great to see a couple of debuts Tom Ramsey and Ari Hodgson. Liz Simpson lost a shoe in the mud which she was able to retrieve thankfully! Another successful XC event; finishing with the usual hot drink, this time we had Alan King’s “Al’s flapjacks” which were exceptionally good 👌. Team work got the…

If you are intending on coming along, can you please get in touch with preferred date so we can gauge interest, if you can do both dates please state that. For those new to the club who have not took part before, this is an all inclusive social run to a few local pubs, and fancy dress / Christmas themed attire is always encouraged! There is also a prize for the best dressed. 🎅 ⛄️ 🎄 Once we have a date, more details will follow. Thanks Sam J

Door duty request

Club News
Door cover for July through to September required. We need the next few weeks of July covering first & foremost. Please comment below if you can help out. For our newer members; we have two members ‘on the door’ every session. It’s a voluntary role, very easy to cover all we ask is at least one of you is in a car and we’ll explain the rest. We rely on members to pick up this role, without the cover we cannot hold the sessions. Coaches are exempt. There will also be a paper copy at the club. Thank you all. Gail

LEAGUE RUN no.8. Albert Park parkrun 24/06/23. Usual rules; Please wear club colours if poss. If coming along to run but don’t wish to be included in the league, can you let me or Sam know in advance. Also can you check your parkrun profile that you have Stockton Striders listed as your club. This makes it easier for Sam to find everyone when processing the results. As usual we will try to get a group photo, this is proving hard to do, so apologies in advance if you get missed out. Maybe meet at the finish area for 8:50am to get this done? We also have a 100th parkrun celebration for Kris Allen who is bringing some of his famous Rocky Road for afters. Let’s see how many Striders…

Cleveland Way Relays 2023

Run reports
Today was the annual club day out on the Cleveland Way as part of the NYMAC Cleveland Way Relays. The weather started misty, breaking into a nice sunny morning but as the day went on the sun went off; clouds formed and the rain fell. The event was so popular with our club that we had enough members interested to put 2 - 3 runners on each leg. We were kept up to date throughout the day with start and finishing times and of their adventures out on their route; which included some confessions as the day went on of getting lost, Charlotte, Izzy…
