* Sorry for the delay! * Tuesday saw round 2 of the track and field series at Middlesbrough. I was joined by Mathew Carling again, and, err, well that's it. Lloyd was meant to come but we're keeping him wrapped in cotton wool - ready to unleash on the opposition at the mile relays. I seem to have scared off the Striders ladies. Come on girls - what could be better than fighting through long tailbacks on the A174, to eventually arrive at a cold and windy arena - face endless delays as the juniors go through their heats - before starting your favourite event. Good afternoon here are tonight’s sessions: (Sub 22) which will be lead by Paul are doing a 10km tempo run. 1 minute fast 1 minute slow. (22-25) which will be lead by Liz are doing 400m relays. (25-27) which will be lead by Angela are doing an interval session. (27-30) which will be lead by Gav are doing mile repeats x 3. (30-33) which will be lead by Suzanne are doing an out and back tempo run. (33+) which will be lead by David are doing hills.  Thanks all ?

Good morning here are tonight’s sessions: (Sub 22) which will be lead by David are doing 800m repeats with active recovery. (22-25) which will be lead by Lucy are doing a pyramid session. 1,2,3,4,5,4,3,2,1. (25-27) which will be lead by Cat are doing a hill session. 10 x 20s repeats at birkdale road and Oxbridge. (27-30 + 30-33) which will be lead by Caroline are doing a hills session, 5 x 3 minutes with 1 minute recovery. (33+ + Progression) which will be lead by Suzanne and Liz are doing a social run. Thursday 3rd May Training Sessions

Good morning all here are tonight’s sessions: (Sub 22) which will be lead by Sam are doing meet and retreat.  (22-25) which will be lead by David H are doing long hills. (25-27) which will be lead by Cat are doing a tempo run. 1.5 mile easy, 2.5 mile tempo and another 1.5 mile easy. (27-30 + 30-33) which will be lead by Suzanne are doing a stair session.  (33+) which will be lead by David E are doing Indian File.  Remember the sessions start from the bandstand at ropner park tonight NOT the club. So if you’re coming along please be at the bandstand for 6.30pm. No subs are required for tonight’s sessions. Thanks ?

This Tuesday is the second NYSD Track + Field meeting, it’s at Middlesbrough Sports Village this time round and it events get underway at 6pm. Paul has asked if you could please try and get there before 6.15pm and bring along your UKA affiliation number. Club colours must be worn to take part. Good afternoon here are tonight’s sessions:  (Sub 22) which will be lead by Sam are doing an interval session.  (22-25) which will be lead by Liz are doing a fartlek session.  (25-27) which will be lead by Cat are doing 2 miles easy with strides, followed by 5 x 4 minute repeats.  (27-30 + 30-33) which will be lead by Gav  are doing 7/3 interval session.  (33+) which will be lead by Suzanne are doing circuit training.  (Progression) which will be lead by David are doing hills. 6 x 2 minute repeats. NYSD Track + Field Report

Last Tuesday saw the start of the 2018 Track and Field season at Darlington. As with last year, it was a bit of a slow start - but Stevie Cooper, Mathew Carling and myself put on our Striders colours and gave it a go. First up was the High Jump where I was happy with a pb of 1.40 metres. Next was the 1500 metres. With what seemed like the entire junior population of North East England competing - there was a bit of a wait for the senior heats to start. When they eventually did, Mathew set off in heat 2.
