It's back by popular demand. Tuesday (10th) sees the return of free tea and coffee after club sessions. Like the previous arrangement we will be looking to offer this service on a fortnightly (ish) basis so watch this space for other dates. Biscuit/cake contributions on tea/coffee nights as always will be greatly appreciated. Enjoy

For all those that replied saying they would like to attend, Borge restaurant is booked for Sunday 8th, half seven sit down. Twenty seven of us going so it should be a good night. Thanks Andy J

Right folks - plan Z. Having consulted others I have booked Borge's Italian Restaurant (Yarm Lane, Stockton) for half seven on the evening of Sunday 8th October if anyone wants to meet up for a post run meal and beverage. Again I appreciate it is a school night but if anyone is interested I need to confirm numbers by 27th September. So, if you do fancy it please comment below by Tuesday 26th. Hoping to get the upstairs seating area if there are enough of us wanting to go. The invite is of course still open to Striders members/partners not running at York. Cheers Andy J

Sorry folks - having been told the club was free on 8th October I got a phone call today to say that it now isn't! ?. Back to the drawing board I'm afraid so any suggestions from Striders on other suitable venues would be welcome. Failing that for those interested in meeting up we may be restricted to a celebratory drinks 'do' in a pub - providing there are no stairs and we can all get a seat! Andy J  

A few of us were wondering if there was any interest in having a 'bit of a do' the evening of the York 10 miler and marathon. Yeah we know it's a Sunday and a school night but having spoken to the bar manager at the club she is happy to put a spread on (I suggested £5 a head) if the interest is there. If there is enough interest I can arrange something at the club, if not a pub crawl round Norton it is (well for me anyway!). Please give it some thought and i will confirm the level of (or lack of) interest next week at club sessions. The invite is of course also open to all Striders members, not just those running at York. Thanks Andy…

After sessions this Thursday (22nd) it is the last tea and coffee freebie until the autumn. Thanks to everyone for the biscuit/cake contributions to date - the tin is currently empty so one last plea for this Thursday to ensure everyone is fed as well as watered. ?

Heads Up... Saturday 17th we are looking to do a Striders group photograph promoting the clubs £500 donation and £235 bucket collections for the Tees Barrage defibrillator appeal. We have an oversized (ish) presentation cheque and will be writing an article for the local media to accompany the photograph. It would be great to see Striders out in force in club colours (vests or t-shirts compulsory please) for the photograph. Could we all meet in the carpark at 0845, fresh faced and looking good! ? Thanks
