SESSIONS CANCELLED 2.11.23 Just to confirm we have cancelled tonight’s official club sessions. Dark nights, surface water, wet leaves and more rain forecast are not a great combination meaning we have had to take a common sense approach. I hope members appreciate the reasoning behind the decision. Thanks to the 15 brave souls who had signed up tonight. Hopefully this early heads up will allow you to make alternative plans as necessary. Weather watch - sessions tonight. We need to keep an eye on things with the weather today. It’s not the fact it’s raining, it is the surface water that is accumulating on both the pavements and cycle paths. (I’ve just been out with the Ivy 🐾 - even she wasn’t enjoying it)! For those not on FB Charity Race Night - Friday 17.11.23 Hi all As we’ve discussed and publicised on FB and the website. Friday 17th November 2023 is World Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Day. As a tribute to Strider Ben Robinson The Moline Cross Station Road Norton are hosting a charity horse racing night. Tickets for the event are now on sale, £10 per ticket. This includes a hot supper, pie and chips (veggie option, cheese and onion pasties available too) plus entry into a free prize draw. As this is not an official Striders event sixty tickets have been initially allocated to us (we may hopefully get a few more). Couple of November social dates for the diary. Friday 17 November - world pancreatic cancer day. In memory of our much loved Strider Ben Robinson there is a Charity race night (horses not humans) at The Moline Cross. Whilst not an official Striders do as a club we have first refusal on 60 tickets. Will start around 7pm - more details to follow. Saturday 18 November - planning on doing a local Parkrun again linked to world pancreatic cancer day. Plan is for The Moline Cross to put sausage butties and a brew on afterwards. From Sam J Evening All, Following on from a few posts discussing it - we can confirm the new half marathon taking place in Middlesbrough on 3rd March 2024 will be one of our league races. There are early bird prices available at the minute which is why we are announcing it ; so members can save some money if they choose to take part! Morning August session subs owed emails will be circulated today/over the weekend. Those only owing £1 (ie have only attended one session in August) will have this amount c/f until September. If this applies you will not receive an email. Please make payment by the due date, I may have mentioned before but it really helps reduce admin time if you do. Thanks Andy J

A message from Daniel & Helen McIlvenny At Daniel’s workplace a colleague has tested positive for covid yesterday. As of last night Daniel is now also displaying symptoms of covid. He was at club sessions on Tuesday (5th) in the sub 20 group. Helen has requested out of an abundance of caution I let members know so those who came into contact with Daniel on Tuesday at the club may wish to take action as appropriate. Thanks Andy J
