As mentioned in Sunday’s post Q&A sessions have been set up via Zoom Login details for tonight 15.9.20 8pm - 9pm 87818581313 -passcode 083877 Login details for tomorrow 16.9.20 8pm - 9pm 87126254874 - passcode 321641 Please feel free to drop in as necessary. We can provide verbal updates and more details to Sunday’s post and hopefully answer any questions you have on the face to face session test and learn proposals. Plans remain on track to commence official sessions starting this Thursday 17.9.20. Risk assessments and supporting documents have been finalised and will be circulated today/tomorrow. Hi all Important club news update post but firstly congratulations and well done to all members who completed their virtual GNR’s today. A bit different I imagine to the real deal but hopefully still a very enjoyable and rewarding experience. As mentioned there are significant updates that the committee need to disseminate to members. Whilst main headlines are highlighted below the intention is to publish these in greater detail over the coming days. Hi all - no video or virtual zoom sessions this week as the committee and coaches are working hard behind the scenes on club plans for introduction later this month. All will be revealed in due course... So instead for this week the following virtual sessions are suggested. Session 1: 800 metre repeats Run for 800 metres Recover for 90 seconds Run for 800 metres Recover for 90 seconds Run for 800 metres Recover for 3 minutes Repeat 800m and 90 sec recovery x 3 So you’re doing a total of 9 x 800 metres. As Sunday mornings are often popular with our members I am currently finalising plans with the catering/bar manager regarding food availability before their 12 noon advertised time. Sorry - long post alert Hi all On behalf of the committee we hope you and your loved ones remain safe and well. The committee met (via Zoom) on 16th July. Whilst we await further clarity from England Athletics in respect of COVID 19 guidance face to face official club sessions sadly remain on hold. However during August the intention is to promote more club challenges and to introduce some form of virtual club sessions. More details will be published soon. ‪In the interim here is the‬ first August club challenge. Saturday 1st August will be twenty long weeks since the last official parkrun’s took place. Striders Parkrun Home Run

For those members not on Facebook Striders Parkrun Home Run - The Sequel Hi all - the committee continue to hope you and your loved ones are staying safe at this time. Following the success of the Striders parkrun home run in April we are inviting members to the May sequel this coming Saturday (23rd). The route - same rules apply, members wishing to participate plan a 5k route travelling no further than 0.5 miles from their current address. If you can, pick a different route from your April parkrun home run course. The aim is to run at 9am on Saturday morning (23rd), if not ideal due to other commitments any time before 5pm on Sunday (24th) is fine. The dress code - this month we are asking members…
