Striders Club League 2022

Club News
Message from Sam Johnston STOCKTON STRIDERS CLUB LEAGUE 2022 Hi All, Early heads up! Now that the race calendar has returned to normality (fingers crossed it stays that way! 🤞) we will be re-introducing our club league for 2022. Unfortunately COVID curtailed the 2020 one before it truly got going and we were unable to host one in 2021 with all the uncertainty around which races were going ahead. For those who have not taken part in the league before, it’s a list of races that run throughout the year, and you earn points based on your performance. There are prizes for the overall winners (male and female) and there are also age category prizes too, so plenty of awards up for grabs! Whilst the friendly competition that surrounds the…

Kirklevington Parkrun

Club News
A special parkrun report from yesterday Today history was made. 5 members from Stockton Striders AC, who were lucky enough to have their names drawn out of the hat, attended the first post covid parkrun at The Grange parkrun Kirklevington Prison. Kris, bless him, did offer to drive back to Norton for me to get this, I had rang my daughter at home who was suffering with a hangover…

Striders door rota 23.11.21 – 24.2.22

Club News
For those not on FB Hi all Pre-Covid we operated a door rota policy. It involved two individuals on club nights sitting in the clubhouse from 1825 - 1945 having the Striders mobile phone and responding to any calls made by coaches in the event of an incident/emergency. Thankfully these are very rare occurrences but we still need the system in place to satisfy both our risk assessment and health and safety obligations. The door rota is covered in pairs on a volunteer basis using the theory ‘many hands make light work’. Ideally both,  but as a minimum one of the two volunteers is required to travel to the club in their own vehicle should it need to be utilised. Given the increase in session…
