Sunday social pace run

A few of us are planning a run tomorrow morning meeting at Ropner Park main gates on Hartburn Lane at 8:45am - plan is to run up along Yarm Road and then join the pathway passing the six fields back to the bowling club and on to Ropner Park for the Great Run Local 5k ... at a social pace of around around 10.5 minute miles. It’s about a 10k all in all & there’s scope to add more distance on if you want too! If anyone’s wanting to join us please comment so we know who to look out for 👍🏻🏃‍♀️🏃🏻‍♂️💪🏻

Long run tomorrow ….

Bit of a change for our long run this week! Debbie & I are heading out for our long run (approx 2 hours time wise & around 12 miles distance so 10-10 1/2 min mile pace ) tomorrow teatime. Meeting at main gates of Ropner Park at 5:15pm for a figure of eight route - up to Preston Park, lap of the park back to Bowling club then up to Long Newton and back finishing off at our beloved Ropner Park (well if there’s no Ropner Park included the run doesn’t count does it Chris Newton 😂😂) .... and then a chippy tea beckons #wellitisfriday Anyone want to join us??

London Marathon 2020 Ballot & Club Entry Place

For all those inspired watching today’s London marathon the ballot is now open for next year apparently. Information will then be sent by race organisers in October time informing you as to whether you have been successful or not. If things remain the same as previous years, as an affiliated running club Stockton Striders AC also qualifies for one place. In order to qualify to enter our club draw held at AGM you must: Be an affiliated athlete with Stockton Striders AC as your first claim club as of 01 May 2019 and still be your first claim at the London Marathon 2020. Have entered the ballot as a Stockton Strider AC athlete. Come October you will need to hang on to your email/ letter which includes a serial number…

Don’t forget if Anyone wants to donate stuff please bring items along this Tuesday 30th April to Stockton Striders and Louise Bassham will collect.... Red Balloons need your help! One of the biggest barriers to starting exercise is cost, more accurately, not being able to afford the right training gear. Red Balloons has decided to open up a Sportswear Clothing Bank in order to help those on low incomes have access to the necessary clothes, get involved and be able to work towards a healthier lifestyle.

Hi gang For all those doing the relays tomorrow  please meet by 6:15pm at the Visitors Centre at Hardwick Country Park Sedgefield where your race number will be allocated by myself & Julia Louise. Club colours must be worn for this event . We will all then make our way to the start area by 6:25pm & take the traditional group photo 😊😊 We are not taking the tent so please layer up for all seasons, warm & waterproof clothing is a most as there’s a fair bit of hanging around. Car parking is limited so car sharing is the best option - post here if u still need a lift/ have space .... the car park fees still apply for this event The teams are as follows .... please…

Helmsley 10k

Well done to the select band of Striders who basked in the Easter Sunday sunshine for the club league run at the Helmsley 10k. A very hilly start and hot conditions made the quest for league points tough with the general consensus that we’d earned our Easter Eggs from the goodie bags! Lunch commitments (liquid or other eh Gav 😜) meant we all soon left after the finish to go our separate ways but it was still nice to see the green & blue team spirit #teamstriders #greenandblue
