A few of us are planning approx 11.5 mile training run on Saturday (a 10:30 min mile pace) - leaving West End bowling club at Darlington Road Hartburn  (next to cycle path) at 8:15am to run to tees barrage parkrun via Ropner Park (of course 😊) then the parkrun and back to West End Bowling club ... Hartburn Deli will be open by the time we get back if anyone wants a post run refreshment 😊😊.

Important notice - for the purposes of health & safety anyone running at the club tonite will be required to carry water with them. Thank you

Hi Gang - trying to gage if there's enough interest in putting a bus on from the club for the York Marathon/York 10 mile event on 20th October . If interested can you please comment below by close of play today and I'll book it at the same time as the GNR bus - again if you commit to a place then you will have to pay for it regardless of if you travel or not!! We usually leave club at 7am and return from York at 4pm with the 10 mile peeps cheering on their marathon buddies :-) Cost approx. £12 but will be confirmed once I've made the booking Thanks Helen

I’m planning a social paced 10k in the morning leaving Ropner Park at 8:45am up along the cycle path towards Preston Park & back to Ropner for GRL via the six fields (there’s lots of overgrown vegetation on fields but I do know where the clearer paths are so road shoes will be fine 😊) .... post here if you are coming along ... oh & I will have Milly with me 🐾🐾🐾🐾 Thanks helen  

So it seems I will be doing the GNR this year after all raising funds for Daisy Chain a fab local charity that offer so much support to families in our area. I’m just trying to gage interest as to whether it’s worth putting a bus on from the club? Leaving Stockton at around 7:30am dropping off in Newcastle then getting picked up around 5pm at South Shields? If you would like a place please comment below ... cost is usually around £10-12 return but if you say yes we’ll still need the dosh if even you decide not to go on the bus in the end!   Thanks Helen J

Anyone else planning on coming along to do the 10mile run tomorrow at about 10 1/2 min mile pace. Meeting at Ropner Park gates @ 8:10am prompt ... last 3 miles will The the GRL at Ropner Park ... so far there’s me 😊 potentially Debbie Edwards, Sandra Stabler & Claire Banton will be meeting us at Preston Park. Please post here so we know who to look out for .... it’s going be a warm one so plenty of hydration etc a must! As We are at Preston Park & Ropner park they’ll be opportunity to refill bottles etc
