Evening All, it is with great regret that the NYSD T+F 2020 season will not now take place due to COVID19 This will allow Clubs to concentrate on their own activities. Please note this relates to the T+F season only. There will be another announcement regarding Cross Country

Important Update on Membership & EA affiliation renewals Given the current situation, Stockton Striders & Stockton Town membership renewals & EA Affiliation renewals continue to be on hold until the start of June at the earliest. We will reassess the situation in the coming weeks and keep you posted. EA have confirmed registration fees will now remain at £15 for 20/21 and have extended the period clubs have to process the renewals therefore our proposal of June takes this into consideration. Hi All As you may have been aware whilst the club has been closed we have been looking at alternative options particular virtual run challenges etc with Liz Simpson & Lucy Owens putting a huge amount of work into this. Unfortunately given the announcement yesterday evening, we feel we are left with no option but to put the ideas on hold for the time being - i.e. at least until after this 3 week window imposed by the Government. We (the committee) would like to thank Liz and Lucy for all the hard work that has gone in behind the scenes to formulate this and hopefully we may be able to implement it in the future. We did this in good faith at the time for the benefit our members…

In line with EA guidance all sessions will be cancelled until at least the end of April 2020. We will continue to provide updates as and when we receive them. Once again thank you for your support with this matter Take care & stay safe

In the last few days we (the committee) have been closely monitoring all of the guidance issued relating to the current situation. However following this evenings announcement & the Government's advice of non essential travel and non essential contact, we will not be holding any club sessions this week and potentially longer into the future. As a responsible club we feel it would be wrong to go against the advice issued today. We also understand Stockton Town FC have cancelled their training sessions indefinitely. Of course we will continue to monitor the situation and will post weekly updates on both facebook and the website. I’m planning a 7 mile run in the morning - leaving Ropner Park main gates at 8:40am to do the run up to Preston Park & back (4 miles) at a nice easy 11 minute mile pace then finish with the GRL at whatever pace you want to run it at! So far there’s me & possibly Jane Webb any more takers? remember it’s not a club run so done at own risk etc etc 😊 thanks Helen J

Important Information! CROFT XC is CANCELLED .... email received below - if you can please let any running buddies know .... Hi All I have just received an email from Darlington Harriers regarding the NYSD XC at Croft. They have carried out an inspection of the course this afternoon and unfortunately they have found parts of the course flooded. With further rain forecast for the weekend we have no choice but to cancel the meeting. It is too late in the season to rearrange another meeting therefore the points scores from the previous 5 completed meetings will have to count as the final totals.
