Hi all Further to the recent healthy discussion regarding the NYSD XC season and the topic of men and women running different distances we thought it would be beneficial to share the following information: In September 2020 following a request from members,  the committee on behalf of the club, sent a letter to UKA in support of equalisation of events. In January 2021 the EA XC consultation survey was shared on the website and in the closed facebook group offering Striders members an opportunity to take part in the consultation on an individual basis. EA's response in March 2021 confirmed over 10,000 responses had been received however as an outcome of the survey they are looking at a wider strategy to be produced which to date has not yet come…

**XC info** Hi everyone. You may have seen a post or two regarding the two new super managers overseeing Stockton Striders AC XC series. Whether we’ll match the efforts of Liz & Jerry remains to be seen but we’ll do our best. Fingers crossed 🤞. The cross country season starts in October so If you wish to take part you will need to register. The cross country is open to all affiliated members of our club of all abilities. Introducing Stockton Striders AC XC team managers…. Gail Robinson & Michael Burke who have kindly volunteered to step into the big shoes vacated by Liz & Jerry Jordan! Thanks again Liz & Jerry for all your hard work over the years 👍🏻👍🏻😊😊 Gail and Michael will be posting information in the coming days & weeks about the XC season, fixtures and help needed etc but in the meantime whilst the events are truly for all level of abilities the one stipulation is that you must be England Athletics affiliated. XC season planning meeting arranged for tonight via Zoom (ID83246224438 & passcode 539457) at 8pm ... sorry for short notice! Whilst there has been some interest shown in "helping" tonight is all about someone volunteering to take ownership for Stockton Striders teams to ensure attendance at this years XC season - that person/s will need to be responsible for sorting out logistics for each event, registering of runners, be the contact for NYSD, adding updates to website (admin rights will be given) and facebook etc. Whilst we all know the supplying of cake plays a part sadly there's a whole lot more to it! Just gaging interest at this stage as to whether there are enough people who would like to travel together by bus from the club like we have in previous years ? please comment below and if we get enough numbers we can make enquiries with local bus companies etc thanks Helen

Can you let me know ASAP as I need to confirm with race organisers tomorrow. Michael Burke has kindly ‘volunteered’ (without any arm twisting whatsoever 😜) to be team manager and will collect race numbers etc and distribute - but please ensure you have your own safety pins! Further to my post earlier this week re NYSD XC team managers we have had a few offers of help thank you. however we’ve now got paperwork to complete in relation to registering of runners which ideally the team manager needs to complete. Therefore it’s really a case of someone taking ownership for the team managers role to ensure things run as smoothly as they have previously …key of course is being able to attend the majority of the XC dates this season and be prepared to sort out the logistics of getting tent, flag, additional stuff to each venue and setting it up etc. if anyone is interested in taking this on can we have a chat this Thursday before club session at 6:15pm please? As only one person expressed an interest in the Royal Signal Relays on 28th August we won’t be entering any teams this year  

This years provisional dates for the Cross Country Season have been released as follows: Provisional dates for 2021 -22 NYSD Cross Country Meetings: 3rd October - Foxes Wood, Acklam 24th October - Foxrush, New Marske 21st November - Croft Circuit, Darlington 5th December - Summerhill, Hartlepool 9th January - Ormesby Hall, Middlesbrough 6th February - Richmond Racecourse 6th March - Caedmon School, Whitby 27th March - Road Relays - South Park in Darlington Also the 11th December, North Eastern Cross Country Champs at Sedgefield You do need to be EA affiliated to participate in the events Sadly Our Top Team Managers of the previous 5 years Liz Jordan & Jerry Jordan are unable to take the helm this season due to other commitments. The ever popular NYMAC relays return with the Thomas Wall Memorial Relays on Thursday 26th August at Stewart’s Park. It’s Teams of four each doing a mile lap each. Club will pay entry fees. If wanting to take part please comment by 6pm on Friday 6th August as I need to register teams when booking opens on the 7th!
