Early heads head …. don’t forget this Saturday sees the start of Striders 2023 canine mini parkrun league. The venue for this one is Northallerton so be prepared for a bit of mud … although sure the dogs will love it ! Please note Parkrun guidance on running with dogs must be adhered too! There’s a few dog friendly cafes in Northallerton for the obligatory post run cuppa 🏃‍♀️🏃🏻🐾👍🏻 ☕️ All welcome with or without a pooch 😊

Would people be interested in a parkrunathon 2023? Possible date 15th July ? With a bit of fundraising chucked in?? For those who haven't taken part in a parkrunathon before basically its running 8 and a bit parkrun courses over the course of a day totally 26.2 miles. You can do as little or as many as you like (its not an official striders event and done at own risk, and you must be realistic with own levels of fitness etc etc). We start at 9am for the only official parkrun of the day then go from venue to venue .... of which are still to be confirmed. Please comment if interested

Canine parkrun mini league 2023 Further to the success of last years runs the overall consensus was heck yes lets do it all again this year! I've looked at the diary so that events don't clash with other league races and drafted the proposed providing a couple of variations and tourism opportunities compared to last years venues. Alfred will be very pleased to know Flatts Lane isn't included Nick and Kay ;-) As ever all runners and canines take part at their own risk and all parkrun rules in relation to running with your dogs must be adhered to. A fantastic morning with Striders supporting our local community pantry’s … big thank you for all the donations and good to see 20+ Striders join in this mornings run. The Community Pantry’s were so very grateful for all the donations and said what a difference it will make to peoples lives. It’s nice to be appreciated & give something back to our local community, whilst combining it with our love for running 💚💙 🏃‍♀️🏃🏻😊👍🏻        

A quick reminder about this Sunday’s Food Bank run… 🏃🏻‍♂️We’ll be meeting at the club at 9:45 for a 10am start. (Please see Helen’s earlier post for additional details). 🏃🏻‍♀️Helen & Gail will both be at the Barrage session tomorrow night if you’d like to bring any donations along. - And a huge thanks to all the donations made so far. 🏃🏻 The pace(s) will be suitable for all. We’d love to see as many Striders there as possible. So please don’t worry about the pace! Finally, If you are planning on coming along, please could you let us know below. Stockton Striders Foodbank Run next Sunday - 19/02/23 Next Sunday is our food bank run … plan is to meet at club at 9:45am and run to St Chad’s community pantry in Roseworth (approx 1.5 miles from club). The pantry organisers are looking forward to seeing us all and have arranged tea, coffee & biscuits for us 😊. The plan is then leave there and to run to Norton Methodist Church on Norton Road before returning to the Stockton Town club house for a cuppa & chat 😊😊 max miles will be about a 11K with opportunities to do less ! We appreciate that it’s a very busy time what with marathon training etc but we would love as many people as possible to join in the run and showcase…

Don’t forget they’ll be a box at club tonight for anyone wanting to make any donations to our food bank run ….

Thinking if there’s enough interest , about organising a bus from the club to Leeds marathon/ half marathon on Sunday 14th May … set ups a bit like York in that the marathon sets off at 9:30am from Headingley & the half 45 mins later. If interested in getting the bus please comment below & I’ll get some prices …. Thanks Helen J
