A queue was building up behind Steve Mitchinson when he crossed the finish line at Wynyard. He was knelt down trying to get his breath back. Once recovered he declared "I only came here for an easy run." Steve was one of 18 Striders at Wynyard this week. It was cool with light winds - and at the start I offered to help pace Steve to try and crack his pb. Despite not feeling 100%, Steve agreed and we were joined by Oli to give it a go. Pleased to say that Steve absolutely nailed it for a new Wynyard best. A 'Fleming finish' from Dara Mavi earned him a new pb. Mike Ford, Kay Martin and Natalie Wade also recorded new pb's. It was a dull and damp start for the 19 Striders at Wynyard this week. Brightening things up was Emma Westmoreland who made it 4 pb's in a row. Sharon Lawson-Green (70%+ age-grading) was 2nd lady home. I was 2nd finisher. Kirsty Alderthay, Jon Archer and Gail Robinson volunteered. Elsewhere, 15 Striders attended Albert where Glenn Cooper (70%+) did his 150th parkrun. Phil Baines achieved a 70%+ a-g. Caroline Horton and Nicole Edwards were in great form. 13 Striders attended a warm Wynyard parkrun on Saturday. Mike Ford, Natalie Wade and Emma Westmoreland got new pb's. Stephen Clancy made his parkrun debut. 22 Striders attended a breezy Wynyard on Saturday and witnessed Andy Laverick complete his 350th parkrun. Chris Hancock and Kay Martin got new pb's. Beth Dang was 3rd lady home. David Mogie, Kirsty Alderthay and Ste Mitchinson volunteered. Elsewhere, John Wilson continued his fine recent form at Albert. Following on from last week, John recorded another all-course pb - smashing through the 30-minute mark for the first time. Great Work. Matt Kirby got an Albert pb. A bright and breezy morning for the 12 Striders at Wynyard. Emma Westmoreland recorded an all-course pb. Nice one Emma. It was my 250th parkrun and I was desperate for my old pal, veteran Strider, Dave Fender to attend. I visited at 7am to witness matron putting him through an intense fitness test. He didn't even come close to passing it - and had to be content with a morning of watching Judge Judy on True Crime (Freeview channel 67). I left with both of us in tears. A difficult parkrun ensued. Neil Mcgee and Pam Steadman volunteered. Elsewhere, 14 Striders took a trip to Hartlepool where Sarah Winter was celebrating her 200th parkrun. Sharon Lawson-Green achieved a 70%+ age-grading. It was a lovely sunny morning for the 18 Striders who attended the Jubilee parkrun on Saturday. Another event in the club-league - the course is described as an undulating mix of grass and paths.
