Parkrun 26 October report

Run reports
It was raining cats and dogs (not Harley) at the barrage on Saturday. 25 Striders braved the elements. Beth Dang had ran well at training on Thursday. Her reward was a new pb. Lee Buckle also recorded a new pb. Amy Burton took the plunge and ran her first ever parkrun. The previous week saw Chloe Turner, Sam Johnston, James Boynton, Tom Day and Michael Meggs run personal bests. Julia C, Helen J and Gareth M volunteered. At Albert Park Emily Palmer was first female home - notching a pb in the process. Good work Emily. Ian Saul got a new pb at Sedgefield. Morning Striders, here are tonight's sessions:  Sub 22 + 22-25, led by Sam are doing repeats at the Avenue. 25-27, led by Cat are doing hills.       27-30, led by Angela are doing up the clock.       30-33, led by Suzanne are doing Run 7 walk 3 for 4 miles (strictly walking on the 3 mins).       33+, led by Helen are doing hills. The door will be covered by Sarah W and Lee B. It’s tea and coffee night so please stop back for a brew if you can. Halloween run

Club News
On 31st October we’ll be doing an all-inclusive Halloween run. 🎃👻  It’ll be a similar format to the Red Nose Day run for those who took part in that.  For it to happen we need 5-6 volunteers for some very easy tasks. 2 people (together) will be based away from the club the others will be at or in the grounds of the club. One of these people needs to arrive at club for around 6 so there when anyone starts to arrive. Can anyone help please? There will be a prize for the best fancy dress too so get planning those costumes!

12 October parkrun report

It was a pleasant autumn morning at the barrage - and 33 Striders were among an attendance of 329. There were pb's for Claire Taylor, Beth Dang and Robert Parker. Robert beating his previous best by an impressive 1 minute 43 seconds. Kirsty Alderthay completed her 200th parkrun and Sue Russell her, erm, 51st... Sarah Winter was 2nd female finisher, with myself and Michael Meggs 2nd and 3rd respectively for the men. Kris A, me, Andy J, Jennie J, Andy L, Neil M, Robert P, Adam, Gail R, Ben R, Liz S, Yvonne, Katy W and Sarah W all volunteered. I received a telephone call from matron early on Saturday morning.
