Paul’s weekend race report

Run reports
Tony Gallilee didn't want a fuss made about his milestone on Saturday. Sorry Tony but your 500th parkrun at Flatts Lane has to be the first item on the agenda. Together with 90 volunteering credits - wow! what a brilliant achievement. The bulk of Tony's runs have been local - with Albert, Stewart, Redcar, Darlington, Flatts Lane and Sedgefield his top 6 venues.  Here's to the next 500... Liz Jordan was 3rd lady home at Flatts Lane. Elsewhere James Heslop continued his good recent form with another pb - this time at Albert Park. Hartlepool witnessed pb's for Tom Murphy and Beth Dang along with a 2nd lady finish for Sarah Winter. Abby Barker and Izzy Morgan were 2nd and 3rd lady finishers at Sedgefield - Abby also recording a…

Run reports
26 Striders went along to the Sedgefield parkrun on Saturday. I've just seen some photos on the website - it looked like you all had a good time. The two main milestones I could see were Janice Long reaching 150 parkruns and Simon Russell 50. Abby Barker and Izzy Morgan were 1st and 2nd ladies to finish. Both got new pb's in the process with Izzy improving her previous best by 34 seconds. Nice work. For the gents - James Heslop, Daniele Meucci and Gareth Maloney picked up new pb's. Elsewhere Michelle Ince was 3rd lady finisher at Hartlepool - also picking up a regional age-grading. Tony Gallilee got a pb at Northallerton in his... 499th parkrun. We also had runners at Albert, Redcar, Stewart and Bramley (Leeds). Redcar was…

Run and talk – Thursday

Training
On Thursday we will be doing a Run and talk session. For those who aren’t aware #RunAndTalk is an England Athletics campaign to raise awareness of mental health and the positive impact running, or physical exercise in general, can have on our mental health. Although we weren’t able to hold this during Run and Talk week, we feel that it is important to hold our own now. This is something that is very important many members. Around 1 in 4 of us will experience a mental health problem of varying kind each year. That’s approximately 45 people in our club. Instead of our usual group sessions on Thursday we will have 3 social runs lead by coaches. The emphasis for these run is very much on social and chatty not…
