Paul’s weekend report

Run reports
22 Striders attended a soggy Wynyard Woodland on Saturday. It was one of the club league runs - with giant puddles to be ploughed through in order to earn a few points. Despite a contingent of Ripon runners it was Striders who dominated the finishing places with 6 out of the first 7 runners home. Abby Barker and Emma Fleming were again in great form. Abby got a new pb and a 70%+ age-grading, was 3rd overall finisher and 1st lady home. Emma (70%+ a-g) got a new pb and was 2nd lady to finish. Kris Allen got a new pb as did Tom Holland. Tom was 2ndoverall finisher in his 50th parkrun. I was 1stfinisher. Kirsty Alderthay, Michelle Ince, Michael Kilding, Gareth Maloney and Gail Robinson volunteered. Dave Fender failed his fitness…

Paul’s weekend report

Run reports
Matron looked worried when I checked in to see how my dear friend Dave Fender was doing on Saturday. On entering Dave's room our worst fears were realised. He was missing... The Wynyard parkrun was cancelled this week due to the weather. Eight Striders took a trip to Millfield in North Yorkshire for the first time. It's described as a mixture of tarmac, trail and grass. With Grant Mcgrath present we'll soon be able to see how it all went on YouTube. A further five Striders went to Greenfield Valley near Chester. Abby Barker (70%+ age-grading) led the entire field home. Nice one Abby. Not far behind were Emma Fleming (70%+) as 2nd lady to finish and Izzy Morgan as 3rd. Striders too at Albert, Stewart, Darlington, Hartlepool, Flatts Lane,…

Run reports
Lots to report this week. It was a glorious sunny day for our runners at York on Sunday - more on that later. Steve Mitchinson celebrated his 300th parkrun at Wynyard on Saturday. John Stapleton got a new pb. Kirsty Alderthay, Michelle Ince and Gail Robinson volunteered. Elsewhere, Tony Gallilee did his 600th parkrun at Northallerton. I know Tony doesn't like a lot of fuss with milestones so I'll just say well done on a fine achievement, Tony. The venue saw Izzy Morgan get a new pb and Emma Fleming (70%+ age-grading) was 3rd lady home. Jane Stohrer did her 100th parkrun at Tyne Green. Paul Drake got another all-course parkrun pb at Hartlepool, where Steve Cotton got a 70%+ a-g and Oli Hall (70%+) was 2nd finisher. Declan Mcgrath…

Training groups update

Club News
From Tuesday we’ll be moving back to 6 groups with the re-introduction of our 33+ group. The groups will be as follows: Sub 20 20-25 25-27 27-30 30-33 33+ As always group availability is reliant on coaches availability and us meeting the minimum numbers. For anyone interested the minimum is 2 plus coach and maximum is 12 plus coach. We will continue to monitor the groups and make decisions about them accordingly. As you’ll be aware we made the decision to reduce the number of groups over the summer due to lower member attendance levels and us having a reduction in the number of coaches available (for very valid reasons). Thanks for your support and understanding over the summer, hopefully lots of you enjoyed our all-inclusive session and our track…
