Due to the continued growth of the club and the current level of interest in the club league the committee have agreed to extend the amount of prizes to be awarded this year. We will now have a first place and runner up in each of the following categories 16-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+. This will apply to both males and females. The category you’re in will be based on your age at the start of the year. (So for example if you turn 30 this year you will still be in the 16-29 age category as you were 29 when the league started).
These categories are in addition to both the overall club male and female winner too. Rules in terms of qualifying races and points scoring remain the same. It is hoped the prize extension to include age categories will maintain current high interest levels in the league whilst continuing to promote the social aspect of our club.
Next year there will also be a prize for the best male and female improvers – assessed on improvement in points for best 7 qualifying league races completed in 2018 compared with equivalent score for 2017.
