London Marathon Club Place Eligibility 2026

Background:

Each year the club qualifies for one England Athletics (EA) club entry into the Virgin London

Marathon (VLM). The club relies on its members EA affiliation to qualify for the club place.

EA/VLM current banding is requiring between 50 – 150 EA affiliated members for one place.

As the representative for Stockton Striders AC the winner of the club ballot will be our Club

Ambassador at the London marathon and therefore would expect them to be an active member of Stockton Striders AC.

Our Eligibility Criteria is:

• You will have needed to enter the public ballot as a current Stockton Striders AC affiliated member and have renewed both your Club membership & EA affiliation no

later than the date to correspond with opening of London ballot by race organisers.

• You will also need to be a current member at the time of the AGM and the London Marathon itself.

(minimum 24 sessions over the year previously to the ballot year of entry unless

exceptional circumstances apply i.e. long term injury). The 24 sessions can include door cover duties and for coaches, coached sessions.

• Exceptional circumstances will be considered, (for example if work commitments,

caring/childcare responsibilities, injury or illness prevents you from attending the minimum of 24 sessions) you will be asked to submit in writing to the committee requesting consideration be given to your application
