AGM – Committee Roles & Re-Election.

AGM – Committee Roles and Re-Election.

Hi All,

Hopefully most of you have seen the previous posts in the group and on the website about the upcoming AGM which takes place a week tomorrow at 7.30pm from the clubhouse. As most will know, one of the main things taking place is the re-election of the committee. I have outlined below the roles, the current holder of the role, and whether they intend to stand again.

Please be reminded that even if the current holder intends to run again, you can still put your name forward for this role, but it will go to a vote.

Chairman – Samuel Johnston (standing again)
Coaching Coordinator – Tom Ramsey (standing again)
Membership Secretary – Sue King (standing again)
Club Secretary – Helen Johnston (standing down)
Treasurer – Abby Barker (standing again)
Male Welfare Officer – Alan King (standing again)
Female Welfare Officer – Gail Robinson (standing for another committee role)
Vice Chair – Suzanne Brodie (standing down)
Members Representatives – Kris Allen, Glenn Cooper & Peter Camp (all standing again)

We do have one member currently interested in the vice chair role, as well as someone interested in the club secretary role. Should the female welfare officer role become vacant, we have a member interested in this also.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Helen and Suzanne personally for all their hard work and efforts over the years in help shape the club into what it is today.

Suzanne, you have been a fantastic vice chair and a great sounding board for me in my first year as chair, as well as being the same for the previous chair too. Thank you for all your hard work and efforts. Not only this, but you are regularly coaching and giving up your time for others to ensure they get a session, despite probably living the furthest distance away of any Strider!

And to Helen, at times over the years, you have taken on multiple roles at once to help ensure the club kept going. It certainly hasn’t always been a bed of roses over these 10 years! It is now time for you to enjoy being a ‘normal’ member of this club, and enjoy the club you have helped build so successfully. Stockton Striders would not be celebrating its 10th birthday in January if it wasn’t for you.

Sam
