Return of 5 groups on a Thursday and England Match Day plans – including a Euro Run🏆⚽️🏃♀️🏃🏻♂️
❗️Here’s everything you need to know looking into June 🗓️❗️
Tuesday’s sessions will follow the usual format with seven groups doing various speed sessions taking off from the club. At least two groups from the seven will be assigned the track to train on. The groups on the track will remain separate and will all be doing their own session decided by their coach. Every group will be assigned the track equally throughout the summer. 🏃♂️🏃♀️
In June, we will be returning to 5 groups on Thursdays – Sub 21, 21-24, 24-27, 27-30 and 30+. Each group will do their own speed session starting from the club. As the range in paces increases slightly in comparison to Tuesday’s groups, the sessions will be more timed focussed on Thursdays. Two groups will be assigned the track each Thursday.
Towards the end of June, Gareth Southgate’s England begin their journey to winning the Euros out in Germany. Trust me, this is Englands time. Phil Foden, Jude Bellingham, Harry Kane. Need I say more? Football is definitely coming home this summer. 🏴🦁🦁🦁🏴
Anyways, two of England’s first three games happen to fall on a club night. These dates are Thursday 20th and Tuesday 25th. We are expecting numbers to be lower than usual on these nights and we also won’t have access to the clubhouse. The England games will be shown on the big screen in the clubhouse meaning it’ll be extremely busy.
For these reasons, we will be offering an all inclusive session at Ropner Park on Thursday 20th and an all inclusive Euro Run taking place from Preston Park on Tuesday 25th. For the Euro Run we will encourage our members to run in their nations jerseys/colours, or maybe you’ll be backing the country you’ve got in your sweepstake 🏴🏴🇮🇹. Further details about both these sessions will be posted closer to the time. 👍🏻

As usual, each group has been assigned a letter from A to F, or assigned the letter T for track. Coaches who are available will pick a session from the options that are in that category.
The categories are as follows and can be seen in greater detail on the colourful image below:
A – Long Repeats
B – Short Repeats
C – Interval Training
D – Hills/Steps
E – Other (such as Medley, Fartlek and Tempo)
F – Social Runs
T – Track Session
As you can see on the plan, we have a Social Run and tea/biscuit night on Tuesday 11th June. Due to how popular our social runs are we will be having four groups rather than three this month. More details will be posted closer to the time. 🏃♀️🏃♂️
