Hamsterley Forest was the venue for another event in the canine league. Simon Russell (2nd) and Liz Simpson (first lady) ran like whippets. For the actual dogs: Alan (Martin), with home advantage,  took first place, Charlie (Tom) was 2nd, Ivy (Andy) 3rd, Flo (Helen) 4th, and Jet (Sue), who was on trail walking duties, came in 5th.  Elsewhere, Hackworth saw Tom Marrs 1st home and Sam Johnston get a new pb. Holly Taylor pb'd at Harlepool and Gareth Maloney got a 70%+ age-grading at Sedgefield. Striders too at Albert, Hull, Sewerby, Riverside, Stewart, Darlington, Crichton (Dumfries), Flatts Lane, Fountains Abbey, Penrith and Marshall Drive, Brotton. Paul J

It was a warm and windy weekend for our runners. At Hartlepool Steve Mitchinson made it to parkrun number 250 - with Steve Cotton and Ben Robinson recording 70%+ age-gradings. Albert Park saw Stevie Cooper and Simon Russell also get 70%+ a-g's and Michael Meggs a 2nd place finish. Izzy Morgan was first lady to finish at Sedgefield. Our only pb of the day went to Holly Taylor at Letchworth. Holly having the added bonus of being 2nd lady home. Striders too at Black Park (Slough), Redcar, Stewart, Monsal Trail (Bakewell) and Jubilee. Pleased to see we got a team out for the Cleveland Way relays on Sunday. I hope everyone was able to finish their legs - and Mick and Ben didn't get swept out to sea on leg…

It’s been a very successful, very enjoyable event. Thank you to everyone who participated we hope you enjoyed the day. The weather was spot on for us all, the scenery so beautiful but the effort from all us Striders was amazing. Our finish times were way ahead of our predicted times; I feel more time was taken on photos and selfies on the reccies than we admitted too 😂 Delays in posting finish times due to lack of signal out in the countryside had us worried but all was okay in the end, no search parties required. Two fallers; nothing serious thankfully, both got up and carried on. Careful planning on what to take or leave in which car is required for future events. Samuel Johnston !! Luckily they were…

Please see the attached photo re the times of the individual legs. These are approx times, therefore could be a bit earlier or later, for that reason can we ask you to be at your leg 20-30 mins before your start time. Stockton Striders colours to be worn. Please send Michael your finish time as soon as you’re done. This will let us know you are safe, also if there is a significant difference in times it allows us to notify later runners. Send a screenshot of your Strava if you use it. I plan to hover around after my leg; anyone stuck for lifts after this time, I’ll try to help out if it’s possible. 29 brightly coloured Striders went to Stewart Park for Saturdays league parkrun. Sam has already done a write up for this so we'll move on to the other venues. Doreen Morris celebrated her 50th parkrun at Darlington with a new pb. Beth Dang did her 100th parkrun at Bushy. There were 70%+ age-gradings for Caroline Horton at Albert, Mick Fawcett at Sedgefield and Simon Russell at The Grange - Simon also getting 2nd place. Striders too at Pontefract, Riverside, Hartlepool, Blyth Links, Jubilee, Rothay Park (Ambleside) and Hamsterley Forest. Paul J
