Paul’s weekend report

Run reports
Paul’s weekend report… 50 Striders attended a warm and humid Albert Park on Saturday. It was a league race - with Kris Allen doing his 100th parkrun and Sam Johnston celebrating his 28th birthday. (both these milestones were low-key affairs - only found out when someone mentioned them whilst I was walking back to the car afterwards) Despite the muggy conditions there were plenty of excellent runs from our members. Andy Laverick did his 300th parkrun. Tom Holland and Daniele Meucci got all-course pb's. Nice work chaps. Caroline Horton and I achieved 80%+ age-gradings. Tom Marrs (pb and 70%+), Nick Martin (70%+), Glenn Cooper (pb and 70%+), Kris Allen (70%+), Steve Cotton (70%+), Daniel Mcilvenny (pb), Emma Fleming (3rd lady to finish and 70%+), Helen Mcilvenny (pb and 70%+) and…

Run reports
24 Striders set their alarm an hour earlier on Saturday. The destination that morning was Fountains Abbey near Ripon for a parkrun league event. For 15 of us it was the first time we had seen the venue - the largest monastic ruins in the country with simply stunning views all around. The course was on tarmac paths around the ruins with one short lap and one long lap with a cheeky little hill on the first lap. A large attendance of 401 waited patiently in the warm sunshine and then we were off. Glenn Cooper (70%+ age-grading), Steve Cotton, Michelle Ince, Julia Ansbro and Joanne Cooke got new pb's. Dinah Owen made her parkrun debut. Abby Barker and myself also got 70%+ a-g's - with Abby 1stlady to finish.…
