Run reports
36 Striders helped boost the attendance at Sedgefield on Saturday. It was a club league event. At the start there were mentions for Gareth Maloney who was doing his 300thparkrun and Melanie Preece doing her 50th. Sam Johnston, Dan Meucci, Tom Holland, Kris Allen, Rob Parker, Emma Fleming, Beth Dang, Fran Corvesor and Gail Robinson recorded new personal bests. Grant Mcgrath made his parkrun debut. Abby Barker, Gareth, Jonathon Archer, myself and Tom Marrs got 70%+ age-gradings. Tom led the entire field home whilst Abby and Izzy Morgan were first and second ladies to finish. Even the rain at the end couldn't spoil another good event for the club. Elsewhere, another Strider was doing his 300th parkrun - and that was David Horton at Worsley Woods. Helen Mcilvenny (70%+) was…

Striders were out in force this week on - yes, you've guessed it - another warm and sunny morning. 21 members made the trip to Marshall Drive, Brotton for a designated league event. For those that haven't done the course - it's 4 laps round a park, a mix of grass and trail, with long up and down gradients and a cheeky steep dip. Once again, the volunteers made us feel welcome and put on an excellent event. Rob Parker reached the 50-parkrun milestone. Abby Barker (70%+ age grading), Andy Johnston, Ben Robinson, Emma Fleming, John Corvesor, Liz Simpson, Michelle Ince, Fran Corvesor, Chloe Turner and myself (70%+) came away with new pb's. Jon Archer (70%+) led the field home, with Abby and Izzy Morgan 1st and 2nd ladies to…

NYMAC relays race report

Run reports
NYMAC Relays Race Report Thursday evening saw 7 SSAC teams take part in the NYMAC - Tom Wall relays and what a night it was to be a Stockton Strider, our team spirit shone through as always. After some initial warm up laps, a mad dash to get as many group photos as we could and some last minute toilet stops, the ‘A’ runners from each team took to the start line with a mix of nervousness and excitement, to say it was a squeeze was an understatement with 74 teams in total taking part. Everybody took off like a shot downhill towards the carpark, most of us then remembering we had a mile to run and not a 100 metre sprint, having just about settled in on the flat,…

Run reports
Runners at Hartlepool faced a stiff breeze in the final mile on Saturday. That didn't stop Doreen Morris and Emma Fleming recording new pb's. Emma celebrated afterwards by consuming a shortbread cakey thing. I was 2nd finisher and Abby Barker 3rd (and first lady). Abby missed out on a new pb by a whisker but had the consolation of a superb national standard 80% age-grading. Elsewhere, Suzanne Brodie reached the 200-parkrun milestone at Keswick. Helen Mcilvenny (70%+ a-g) at Whitley Bay and Izzy Morgan at Sedgefield were both 2nd ladies home. Tom Holland and Zoe Cornforth got pb's at Darlington with Tom's an all-course one. Lisa Graves pb'd at Hull as did Craig Thomas at Hackworth. Stevie Cooper got a 70%+ a-g at Albert. Striders too at Newtown (Wales), Windy…
