Let’s go somewhere different

This week proved a popular one for trying out a new parkrun location with five Striders choosing this option.

At Sedgefield Paul Stephenson was a first timer on a day that they had a record turnout. Adam Potter and Stephen Boddy did the same at Hartlepool. Whilst it looks like it might have been a close sprint up the hill at Temple Newsam to finish their first trip there for Caroline and David Horton.

On Teesside it was a nice still day for a run and of the ten Striders at Albert park three – Tracy Bradburn (consecutive week but different parkrun), Lisa McGee and Rachel Carr – took advantage to better their times.

Another big turnout at Tees Barrage of 21 athletes. Lisa and Jason Pattison made it two PBs in two weeks. Nigel Radcliffe and Andy Johnson appear to have duked it out to the finish line and in the process set new best times – was John Dodd also in that battle for a period or did he just miss time his sprint finish and not quite catch them? Either way, a new PB for John too. Meanwhile, David Fender and Paul Johnson were first and third male finishers respectively.

This is not a particularly meaningful statistic, for a number reasons and it might not last for long, but it still nice to note that as of this week’s results more Striders have completed Tees Barrage parkrun than any other club or group.

Elsewhere, we also had representation at Stewart park and Darlington.
