If you’re looking for a local running club then you’ve come to the right place.

 

Important information coronavirus update Stockton Striders sessions cancelled.

In the last few days we (the committee) have been closely monitoring all of the guidance issued relating to the current situation.

However following this evenings announcement & the Government’s advice of non essential travel and non essential contact, we will not be holding any club sessions this week and potentially longer into the future. As a responsible club we feel it would be wrong to go against the advice issued today. We also understand Stockton Town FC have cancelled their training sessions indefinitely.

Of course we will continue to monitor the situation and will post weekly updates on both facebook and the website.
I’m sure you will all agree whilst this decision is made with a heavy heart it is still the right decision to make.

About our club

Stockton Striders Athletics Club is a running club based at Stockton Town FC, Bishopton Road West, Stockton. Formed in 2014 to support those who wish to train, race or run for fun on and off road.

We have a number of coaches, qualified to either Coach in Running Fitness (CiRF) or Leader in Running Fitness (LiRF), who hold a weekly structured training session.

We hope that joining not only improves your times and enjoyment but also introduces you to new friends.

There are further details about our club on this site, but the best way to find out about us is to come along and give us a ‘no commitment’ try. Your first 3 sessions are free! After that chances are that you will come back and sign up as a member because not only do we support and encourage everyone, whether experienced or new to running but we’re a very friendly and social club as well.

 

Training with us

We train on Tuesday and Thursday nights from 6:30pm, normally starting with a club warm-up, before splitting into our structured training sessions. All abilities and distances are catered for.

Training groups are based on 5k pace. We currently have the following groups:

  • Sub 22
  • 22-25
  • 25-27
  • 27-30
  • 30-33
  • 33+

If it’s your first visit please arrive earlier so we can meet you and find the right group for you.

Races

During the year our members enter numerous road, trail, cross-country and track and field events. We also have a club league running throughout the year with the awards presentation evening at the end of January coinciding with our birthday party.

 

Our social events

Social events are held throughout the year including race nights, games nights and other social get-togethers.
