Message from Cat: Thus Thursday night Cat will be doing another one of her hilly run sessions in Guisborough woods. Subs are due as normal. Meet on Hutton village road at 6.30pm. Sat nav code TS14 8ER. Anyone from the 27-30 group or faster groups are welcome. Distance will be approximately 10km. There will be alternate sessions on at the club for those that can’t make this.

Cleveland Way Relays – 24th June

Who’s up for a great team challenge and taking part in the Cleveland Way Relays? We will be aiming to put one team out, maybe 2 if we have enough runners, to tackle the route of Filey to Helmsley. If you are interested please let Michael Burke know and we can sort out which leg you may wish to tackle (details of the route/legs to follow). We will be organising recce runs for people to learn their legs, this is a must to help with timings as well as we don’t want to be getting lost on the day ?

Tuesday 20th March 25-27 group

A message from Cat.... On Tuesday 20th March the 25-27 group will be doing a head torch run in Guisborough woods. Anyone interested who can run in the 27-30 group or faster is welcome to come (sorry we can’t accommodate slower runners). Max distance will be 10k. Head torch is essential. It will be hilly but pace will be leisurely and conversational. Meet on Hutton Village Road at 6.30pm. Follow Satnav for postcode TS14 8ER and you will see Cat on the road before you get there where you will need to park up. Please don’t run Cat over! Normal subs will apply. If you normally run in the 25-27 group and want to come to the club as normal please join a different group.

Charity do Friday 27 April

Club News
As you may all be aware Tom Day is taking part in 4 marathons throughout the month of April. He is running these marathons for The National Osteoporosis Society, a charity close to his Nan’s heart. A charity fundraising evening has been arranged for Friday 27th April at the club which will include a race night, nibbles and a raffle. Tickets are £5 each. Raffle prize donations will be gratefully received. If you fancy a typical Striders night out let Tom or Gail know how many tickets you require. Oh we do like to be beside the seaside.

Run reports
It wasn't quite bucket and spade weather but Striders had a trip to the seaside. The Yorkshire Coast 10k in Scarborough wasn't a league race, but it might as well have been with the number of us running. Another stupidity early Sunday morning bus left club HQ full of sleepy Striders. Although it was a lie-in compared to the day before for those of us who had been up even earlier to enter the Brass Monkey. Bus manager Helen (thanks for organising) was running a very strict establishment, not letting anyone on the bus before they had paid their fare. ? Arriving in plenty of time we headed to the Spa complex to hide from the wind and rain caused by the remains of Storm whatever stupid name they have…
