Training groups update

From Tuesday we’ll be moving back to 6 groups with the re-introduction of our 33+ group. The groups will be as follows: Sub 20 20-25 25-27 27-30 30-33 33+ As always group availability is reliant on coaches availability and us meeting the minimum numbers. For anyone interested the minimum is 2 plus coach and maximum is 12 plus coach. We will continue to monitor the groups and make decisions about them accordingly. As you’ll be aware we made the decision to reduce the number of groups over the summer due to lower member attendance levels and us having a reduction in the number of coaches available (for very valid reasons). It was another warm October day for the 14 Striders at Wynyard on Saturday. Andy Laverick, Christopher Lovell, Liz Simpson, Michelle Hart and David Mogie all came away with new pb's. Kirsty Alderthay, Sam Johnston, Andy Laverick, Gareth Maloney and Gail Robinson volunteered. Elsewhere, Albert Park was the venue for Paul Drake's all-course pb. Nice one Paul. Oli Hall, Phil Baines and Helen Mcilvenny all achieved 70%+ age-gradings. Helen was also first lady to finish. Jonathan and Gavin Chapman-Galloway made their parkrun debuts at Hartlepool - where Glenn Cooper (70%+) pb'd and Michael Meggs (70%+) was first finisher. Run reports
It was the first cross-country event of the season at a warm and humid Acklam on Sunday. More on that later. Saturday at Wynyard saw Paul Drake, Declan Mcgrath, Kevin Dove and David Edwards get new pb's. Holly Taylor was 2nd lady to finish. Kirsty Alderthay, Michelle Ince, Neil Mcgee and Stephen Mitchinson volunteered. Elsewhere, of the 11 Striders at Albert, Tom Marrs (70%+ age-grading) was 2nd finisher in a new pb. Caroline Horton got an 80%+ age-grading. Oli Hall (70%+) and Christopher Lovell both recorded all-course pb's at Hartlepool. Nice work chaps. Steve Cotton got a 70%+ a-g. Club News
There were plenty of Striders around for a breezy Redcar Running Festival on Sunday. However, we'll start, as always, with Saturday's parkruns. 9 Striders attended Wynyard with David Edwards getting a new pb and Oli Hall a 70%+ age-grading. Kirsty Alderthay, Andy Laverick and Gareth Maloney volunteered. Elsewhere, 12 striders went to South Shields. It's a coastal run with a mix of terrain and some sections along a cliff top. Grant was running so hopefully we'll get a review of the event on his Endorphin Empire YouTube channel soon. Emma Fleming (70%+) was 3rd lady home.
