Road Relay Championships 2021 - Hetton Lyons Park Hetton Le Hole Saturday 28th August. It’s that time of year again folks … anyone wishing to take part please comment by Friday 13th August. Ladies teams are 4 members Men’s teams are 6 members 2.22 miles each leg (2 laps of a flat course - sort of 🤣🤣) You MUST be 1st Claim England Athletics Affiliated to participate - we can still process this in time for the event if you’ve not yet renewed - just hand over your £15 and fill the EA form in 👍🏻 Official Striders Green with blue swirl vests need to be worn for this one please. Club will pay striders teams entry fees 😊

Saturday unofficial social run - meeting at Preston Park overflow car park at 9am for a easy paced run/walk bimble along the Teesdale Way approx 6 miles (joining it at the blue bell and then along banks of the river tees back to Eaglescliffe) followed by a cuppa afterwards 😊…. All welcome - if you are a faster paced runner it just means more loop backs for you 🤣🤣 please comment  here so we know numbers won’t exceed 30!    

After everyone’s hard work in the 25-27 & 30-33 groups meet & retreat session in Ropner Park it was time for a photo opportunity next to the memorial tree & plaque

After the England game a post match walk for Flo and me to Ropner Park as mams plaque has been put into situe today at her memorial tree …. A lovely memorial from our friends at Stockton Striders - thank you all so much x Helen J x

IMPORTANT - please note the club sessions planned for this Tuesday 29th June will now take place on Thursday 1st July due to availability of coaches on Tuesday.   Tuesday is the England Match & kick off is 5pm so obviously the majority of coaches want to watch the match. As you are aware our leaders and coaches are all volunteers giving up their own time for the club and its members so please if you can all respect this decision. Magnapass will be updated to reflect the change in day/time.

Well done Finlay Pennington whose name was been pulled out the hat (or in this case tin!) to represent the club at this years London Marathon - I’m sure you’ll do us proud Fin 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻. Emma Fleming is 1st reserve. Thanks to all Striders who expressed an interest and as they say .... better luck next year 😜

All EA affiliations received by Saturday's deadline have now been processed and you should hear from EA in the coming days. We have also processed all the e-mails re London Marathon ballot - don't forget if you are already EA affiliated for 21/22 and still wish to enter the ballot you have until 31/05/21 to send your no e-mail from VLM. The draw will take place before the training session at the club on Tuesday 01/06/21 Thanks Helen
