The Northern Echo along with an Ambassador from Parkrun will also be there. NYSD AGM agenda item on gender equality in XC league Thank you for the 4 responses received in relation to the above. We have the following proposals that we will take to the meeting for further consideration by the NYSD committee. * the opportunity for all to choose to participate in either the shorter or longer distance for the duration of the XC season * to have one race & one distance only (between the current usual shorter & longer distances ) 7 or 8k for example that everyone competes in. * adapting similar to Scottish athletics Method where Men and women run the same distances (in separate races) but at the start of season races are shorter (around 5k) and gradually increase for both genders through the season (to…

I I I know Paul J’s parkrun report will follow but today marked a 1st for Stockton Striders AC - we now have a parkrun 500 club member amongst our ranks. This person did not want a fuss and wanted things low key but with his permission we want to say a massive well done & congratulations to Tony Galilee … not only has he joined the 500 club but has volunteered over 90 times - simply phenomenal. We felt we couldn’t not mark the occassion so presented Tony with a couple of gifts and he definitely deserves not 1 but 2 striders pens don’t you agree 😊😊😊

Further to the post some weeks ago in response to comments regarding gender equality in XC at a local level, as promised we have requested the item be included at the NYSD AGM next month. Gail Allison-Robinson and myself are attending the meeting on behalf of SSAC committee. As the club continues to return to some sort of normality post covid, plans are underway for this years AGM. This has been arranged for Thursday 18th November 2021 in the studio at Stockton Town FC at 7:45pm. An agenda will follow in the next couple of weeks but if anyone wishes to submit an agenda item please e-mail stocktonstriders@gmail.com by Tuesday 26th October please.
