Hi all A massive thanks to everyone who was able to attend our Ben Robinson tribute charity race night yesterday evening and our ‘Pancreatic Parkrun’ this morning. Thanks to everyone’s support and unbelievable generosity we managed to raise £1,117.50 from both events. A brilliant sum to raise in memory of a brilliant guy. The amount will be forwarded to PCUK in the hope that one day a cure can be found for this cruel disease. Until the next time…..💜 Andy J

Pancreatic Cancer UK (PCUK) Awareness Weekend Thanks to all those who are attending our tribute to Ben Robinson charity race night tomorrow and/or the Wynyard Woodland Parkrun on Saturday. We’ll start with Friday. Just to remind you. The race night starts at 7pm at The Moline Cross, Station Road, Norton. The entertainment will start from around 715 pm and food will be served at 8 ish. Please bring plenty of £1 coins if you fancy a flutter. Last year was a great night and a great success, let’s hope this years is too. And then onto Saturday. Wynyard Woodland Parkrun. Please meet on the ‘station platform’ (near the cafe) for a group photo at 0850. All are encouraged to wear their PCUK charity tops or something purple where possible. Those…

For those not on FB As part of our Pancreatic Cancer UK (PCUK) awareness weekend and as another fitting tribute to Strider Ben Robinson the plan is to arrange a club run at Wynyard Woodland Parkrun next Saturday (18th). Rather than try and then all squeeze into the cafe for refreshments after Parkrun we have arranged sausage butties and a brew at the The Moline Cross, Norton. Cost will be £4 cash per person, payable on the day. Butties will be served from around 1015. As usual we need to confirm numbers. Could those wanting the butty and the brew please comment below confirming whether you want the meat or veggie sausage option. Members not wanting/able to run at Wynyard are still welcome to have the butty too. Deadline for…

SESSIONS CANCELLED 2.11.23 Just to confirm we have cancelled tonight’s official club sessions. Dark nights, surface water, wet leaves and more rain forecast are not a great combination meaning we have had to take a common sense approach. I hope members appreciate the reasoning behind the decision. Thanks to the 15 brave souls who had signed up tonight. Hopefully this early heads up will allow you to make alternative plans as necessary. Weather watch - sessions tonight. We need to keep an eye on things with the weather today. It’s not the fact it’s raining, it is the surface water that is accumulating on both the pavements and cycle paths. (I’ve just been out with the Ivy 🐾 - even she wasn’t enjoying it)! For those not on FB Charity Race Night - Friday 17.11.23 Hi all As we’ve discussed and publicised on FB and the website. Friday 17th November 2023 is World Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Day. As a tribute to Strider Ben Robinson The Moline Cross Station Road Norton are hosting a charity horse racing night. Tickets for the event are now on sale, £10 per ticket. This includes a hot supper, pie and chips (veggie option, cheese and onion pasties available too) plus entry into a free prize draw. As this is not an official Striders event sixty tickets have been initially allocated to us (we may hopefully get a few more). Also attached is supporting document in regard to a proposal for the eligibility criteria for the club's London Marathon Place and the committee role profiles.   We ask anyone interested in any of the committee roles to have a discussion with Andy J (Chair) or myself in the first instance so that you can learn more of the role and what commitment and skills it entails. We would urge as many people as possible to attend the AGM please.  We do need a minimum of 12.5% membership to be quorat (approx 25 members).
