Massive congratulations and Very well done to Helen Hall our medal winning race walker – here’s her write up of recent events ….

“The event I did in Birmingham was the British Masters Open Track Championships. It was on the weekend of 24th and 25th June.
It was really good that there were 4 people from the North East all competing in both race walking events.

Saturday 24th June – 3km race walk. I came 2nd in a PB of 21.10 collecting the Silver medal.

Sunday 25th June – 5km race walk. I came 2nd again in a new PB of 35.27 collecting the Silver medal.

Recently I travelled to Monkton Stadium, Jarrow for their league track meeting. The put a 3km race walk on and there were 6 of us competing. I came 2nd in this in another new PB of 20.33.

I, and my coach both feel that since joining Striders and doing various sessions on the road and track (and sand dunes) I have built up my stamina which has lead to me getting PB’s with each event I do.

I am also going to start to do some more running events – although my main priority is my race walking. I would like to do a half marathon and possibly even another marathon at some point.

Thank you for all the help and support you and everyone at the club have given me.

I joined Stockton Striders, thanks to Gail Robinson, (who initially got me back into running through the SRDI 10 week beginners running group at North Tees Hospital), and think it really is an excellent family club”

Thanks Helen ???.
