Five go to Darlo
A lack of kit and safety pins didn’t stop 5 intrepid Striders from attending the first NYSD on Tuesday. (you can never bring too many safety pins to events of this nature). Katie Abel, Vicky Meaby and Kate Butterworth represented the ladies whilst Paul Johnson and Michael Burke were the two gents. Everyone did either 1 or 2 events – with good runs in the 1500 metres for Katie and Michael – and solid jumps in the triple jump for Kate and Paul. Performance of the night though went to Vicky with first place in the women’s Javelin. If anyone else fancies a go at track and field then the next event takes place on May 2nd at Middlesbrough.
